Job Description
Engineer I will support work on Xcel Energy’s Distribution System Plan (DSP) by applying engineering principles to distribution system design and analysis. This role involves working on small to moderate projects, performing load calculations, and supporting construction and permitting efforts.
ResponsibilitiesApply engineering principles to the design and analysis of distribution systems.Perform load calculations and system modeling.Support construction and permitting efforts for various projects.Collaborate with engineers, designers, and project managers.Conduct field data collection and site verification.Interpret utility construction standards and technical documentation.Essential SkillsBachelor’s degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited curriculum.0-2 years of experience in design, construction, project management, or a related field.Understanding of technical standards, principles, and concepts.Familiarity with design software such as AutoCAD and GIS software including GE SmallWorld and ArcGIS.Ability to work independently and in a team environment.Strong communication and organizational skills.Additional Skills & QualificationsExposure to SAP, DDS, and PMSI.Field experience in data collection and verification.Knowledge of permitting and regulatory processes.Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders.Work Environment
Based in Denver, CO, this position requires five days in the office per week. Fieldwork is necessary for data collection and site verification, promoting collaboration with engineers, designers, and project managers in a dynamic and supportive environment.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $28.84 - $31.37/hr.
