**Abbott Rapid Diagnostics** is part of Abbott’s Diagnostics family of businesses, bringing together exceptional teams of experts and industry leading technologies. Our in-vitro Diagnostic Assay manufacturing site in **Dundee** has an exciting opportunity for a **Distribution Clerk** to join the team.
**MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB**
· This is an individual contributor role with expectations aligned to the Capabilities and Behaviours as set out in the Abbott Dundee Employee Handbook.
· Within the Dundee Operations environment, the Distribution Clerk is responsible for preparing product for shipment to final destinations.
**ACCOUNTABILITIES**
· Conduct all activities in accordance with the Abbott Dundee Health & Safety culture.
· Providing effective contribution to the Dundee Logistics Team by taking full accountability for personal workload, ensuring work is completed to a high standard in accordance with site policies, procedures and applicable regulations.
· Responsible to comply with applicable policies and procedures, ISO standards, and with GMP regulations and requirements.
· Routine material handling tasks related to the receipt, movement and shipment of materials and Finished goods.
· Provides standard clerical and administrative support for the billing and shipping functions including photocopying, filing, and maintaining records of shipments.
· Pick, assemble and verify customer orders ready for distribution, arranging transport as necessary.
· For goods considered dangerous for transport, assemble goods and prepare documentation to ensure compliance against international and national regulations (ADR/IATA).
· Conducting all activities in accordance with the Abbott Dundee Health & Safety culture.
· Carries out other duties as and when requested by Line and Department Manager.
**BASE REQUIREMENTS**
· Nat 4 or equivalent in English, Maths or equivalent experience to demonstrate literacy and numeracy skills.
· Counter-balance forklift licensed, or capable of obtaining a counter-balance forklift license.
· Certified as trained in Dangerous Goods transport/handling.
**BACKGROUND**
· Proven warehouse experience.
· Good time management skills.
· Ability to operate forklift, hand truck, pallet jack and other common warehouse equipment.
· Solid understanding of health and safety regulations.
· Knowledge of MS Office, in particular Excel.
· Knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.
· Good organisation skills; manage quality documentation, execution of order placement and other administrative duties in a timely manner.
· Good communication skills, both written and oral, working with other departments, effective preparation of documents and reports.
· Be able to work as a member of a small team.
· An understanding in the requirements of the handling of dangerous goods by air and/or road is advantageous.
· Knowledge of GMP processes and procedures.
