Distribution Center Manager

As the Distribution Center Manager at ThermoFisher Scientific, you will lead and manage all activities of the supervisors with a focus on lean, process improvement, and transformation. **Core Responsibilities** + Driving process improvement through three key areas: Automation, Systems, and the Lean methodology + Evaluating and implementing material flow improvements and finding opportunities to remove waste from the process + Resolving problems that prevent timely and efficient handling of orders + Participating in the hiring process and recommending candidates for hire + Training, developing, and mentoring staff while promoting employee development, creativity, and two-way communication + Coordinating cross-training and execution planning of all distribution center colleagues + Assuming supervisory duties in the event of an absence + Ensuring all policies and procedures are followed accurately and efficiently + Ensuring compliance with State, DEA, ATF, and OSHA regulations + Maintaining compliance with regulatory and operational procedures + Working directly with the Regional Operations Manager to meet P&L goals and objectives + Think and act with a customer-centric approach to deliver exceptional customer experiences + Prioritizing customer requirements and being dedicated to meeting or exceeding customer expectations **To be successful in this role, you will need** + Familiarity with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), Manhattan experience is preferred + Knowledge of warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, picking, packing, and shipping processes, and familiarity with different material handling equipment + Experience with warehouse automation systems (e.g., MHE, conveyance, automated storage and retrieval systems) + Proven understanding of operational safety and health requirements (EHS) + Current knowledge of regulatory requirements including DOT and HAZMAT **Education:** + A High School Diploma or equivalent experience (bachelor’s degree in Business), Supply Chain, or a related field preferred) or an equivalent combination of experience and education **Experience** + A minimum of 5 years of dynamic management experience in a distribution or manufacturing operations environment + Proven track record of continuous improvement implementations using methodologies such as Lean, Kaizen, and 6 Sigma + Experience opening new facilities is a plus **Knowledge, Skills, Abilities** + Limited travel is required + Ability to lift 50 lbs. + Ability to work in a warehouse environment without air conditioning in the summer + Must be able to perform the supervisor’s and other jobs in the warehouse when team members are absent **What We Offer** Competitive Salary: + Pay rate based on experience + Annual performance-based bonus + Annual merit performance-based increase Excellent Benefits! + Review our company’s Total Rewards + Medical, Dental, & Vision benefits-effective Day 1 + Paid Time Off (120 hours per year) + Designated Paid Holidays + 401K Company Match up to 6% + Tuition Reimbursement – eligible after 90 days! + Employee Referral Bonus Our Mission is to enable our customers to make the world healthier, cleaner and safer.
