Job Description
As a Distillation Technician, you will be responsible for operating and overseeing equipment used in the distillation process, ensuring the distillation of target compounds and batches from specified raw materials. You will conduct temperature checks and complete batch records in accordance with GMP and SOPs. Additionally, you will perform product inspections and provide samples for quality control testing. Your role will require accurate recording of data points and inputting information into the tracking system. You will adhere to best practices and standard operating procedures while continuously working on improving processes.
ResponsibilitiesOperate and oversee distillation equipment for processing target compounds and batches.Conduct temperature checks and complete batch records per GMP and SOPs.Perform product inspections and provide samples for quality control testing.Record various data points as required.Utilize the computer system to input data into the tracking system.Comply with best practices and standard operating procedures.Work on improving processes continuously.Essential SkillsExperience in distillation, purification, and compounding.Proficiency in fractional distillation, steam distillation, and batch making.Knowledge of chemical operations and chemistry.Ability to handle chemicals and perform mixing and blending.Experience in laboratory and manufacturing processes.Additional Skills & QualificationsMinimum of a high school degree with strong attention to detail.Ability to learn unique, detail-specific processes.Comfortable working different shifts as required.Proficiency in computer use.Previous experience in distillation is preferred.Experience in GMP environments is preferred.Work Environment
The work environment is independent, requiring smart individuals capable of handling various calculations for product specifications and providing documentation as needed. Attention to detail is crucial, as is the ability to input information into the internal tracking system. You must be able to work with expensive ingredients and operate in a manufacturing-type setting, typically wearing jeans and a t-shirt. The culture is family-oriented, emphasizing a 'work hard, play hard' mentality with straightforward communication, requiring interaction at various levels.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $26.00/hr.
