Position Summary 

The Night Shift Dispatcher is responsible for coordinating nightly transportation operations, dispatching drivers, monitoring load progress, and serving as the key point of contact during the night shift. This position requires strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills. The role will begin as an on-site position at our RVI-Harmony Truck Shop, with the potential for remote work in the future, depending on business needs and performance—but remote status is not guaranteed. 

 

Key Responsibilities 

Manage dispatch operations during the night shift, ensuring timely and efficient delivery coordination. 

Maintain clear and professional communication with drivers, mechanics, plant personnel, and leadership via Microsoft Teams, phone, and mobile devices. 

Utilize transportation management systems and GPS tools to track routes, monitor traffic, and support delivery execution. 

Keep accurate logs of dispatch activities, load assignments, and any shift-related communications or issues. 

Serve as the primary point of contact for operational issues that arise overnight, resolving or escalating as appropriate. 

Support compliance with all Tyson policies, safety procedures, and applicable transportation regulations. 

Deliver exceptional customer service internally and externally through responsive and respectful communication. 

 

Qualifications 

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Teams) is required. 

Must be able to communicate effectively via mobile devices and Microsoft Teams. 

Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a professional demeanor. 

Strong customer service orientation with the ability to maintain calm and clarity under pressure. 

Highly organized with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. 

Prior experience in transportation dispatch, logistics, or fleet coordination (six months or more preferred). 

High school diploma or equivalent required; additional training or coursework in logistics is a plus. 

Flexibility to work night shifts, weekends, and holidays based on business needs.
