DISPATCHER
Job Summary:
This position is directly responsible for coordinating the movement of material for customers – location to jobsite. This will include loading, delivering and returning products to and from customer projects. In most yards this will be a supervisory position, with drivers and yard personnel reporting to the Dispatcher.
Physical Demands:
•Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, stoop, and hear in a safe manner.
•Occasionally required to lift up to 50 lbs
•Regularly required to use close vision, distance vision (clear vision at 20 feet or more), peripheral vision, depth perception (three-dimensional vision, ability to judge distances and spatial relationships), and the ability to adjust focus (ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus).
Skills Needed:
• High school diploma or GED, and 3 - 6 months of delivery or dispatching experience.
• Ability to read and write in English, needs good communication skills and follow-up.
• Working knowledge of geographical delivery areas for the location.
• Be very organized and detailed to handle chaotic delivery environment effectively and relatively mistake-free.
