**Summary**
The **Dispatcher** is primarily responsible for dispatching emergencies/non-emergencies for the Redstone Arsenal Fire Dept, The Redstone Arsenal Police Dept and the Marshall Space Flight Center Security. The dispatcher is responsible for operating the J911 emergency and administrative telephones, various fire alarm systems, US Army and NASA security alarm systems, National Crime Information Center (NCIC) operations, 2-way radio and emergency warning and notification systems.
**Responsibilities**
+ Required to follow all company personnel and safety policies and perform all assigned duties in a safe work manner.
+ Dispatch emergencies within proper guidelines.
+ Track and record all incidents with a chronological listing of events using various forms and computerized programs.
+ Must be able to work flexible hours to include weekends and holidays if needed.
+ Other duties as assigned.
**Qualifications**
+ High School Diploma or GED.
+ 1-year previous experience as a dispatcher for emergency responders preferred
+ Must possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license.
+ Meet and maintain the requirements of NFPA 1061, Professional Qualifications for Public Safety Tele-communicator and Emergency Medical Dispatch and NFPA 1221, Standard for the Installation, Maintenance, and Use of Emergency Services Communications Systems.
+ Must be able to obtain a security clearance but not required to start.
+ Must be able to meet drug testing and alcohol – free workforce requirements to include random drug and/or alcohol testing.
+ Must obtain APCO Public Service Telecommunicator certification as well as National Incident Management System (NIMS) ICS-100, ICS-200, ICS-700 during initial training period.
