The Opportunity
We are seeking a highly motivated, enthusiastic and committed Dispatch Coordinator to join our Sydney based team, in a full-time capacity, working Sunday to Thursday. Your role as the Dispatch Coordinator is imperative to the day-to-day operation. You will be responsible for processing outbound orders, labelling and handling freight in preparation for air and road transport and preparing daily run schedules for our drivers.
You will be required to:
Scan and dispatch freight
Stack and wrap pallets along with other warehouse duties where required
Create air and road consignment notes (using both a computer and manual system)
Lodge and collect freight at air and sea terminals
Load and unload delivery vehicles, completing deliveries on occasion
Collaborate with management to modify daily routes to accommodate the customer needs
Prepare daily work schedules and notify drivers of road hazards that may impact their travel time
Monitor daily driver logs for errors, violations, working hours and equipment availability
Process export and import shipments
You will have:
2 - 3 years of warehousing experience
Customer service experience in a fast paced, dynamic environment
A current forklift licence or willingness to obtain one
A certificate I-II in Warehousing & Distribution and/or experience in 3PL warehouse and freight forwarding will be highly regarded
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
The ability to work under pressure and prioritise multiple tasks
Strong planning and organisational skills
Experience using dispatch software is highly desirable
