Job Summary
The Department of Athletics is seeking a Director Women’s Basketball Operations. This is a full-time (1.00 FTE ),12-month, professional faculty position.

The Operations Manager for the Women’s Basketball program reports to the Head Coach for Women’s Basketball and under their supervision forwards the mission of the athletics program under the following objectives: 1) Assists with the success of all student-athletes and student managers by providing input and guidance on travel; by managing study hall on the road; and assisting academic counselors as a liaison to the program. 2) Fosters an environment of support and well-being within the program for all student-athletes by assisting them with resources and connecting them to experts in the department and on campus; 3) Assists the Head Coach in the recruitment of elite student-athletes; 4) Serves as an advisor to the Head Coach regarding Revenue Share execution and decisions. Has an understanding of NIL and is able to connect women’s basketball student athletes with resources and experts in the department 5) As delegated by the Head Coach, will act on the programs behalf and manage all aspects of Conference Tournament and post-season travel and administration 6) Assists the Head Coach with annual program budget development and its day to day management; 7) Provides leadership to the program for Diversity and Inclusion efforts in the department; 8) Liaisons with donors, fans, and alums to provide each group a sense of connectedness to the program as appropriate

Key Responsibilities
30% TEAM TRAVEL / LOGISTICS
Responsible for all logistical planning for the Women’s Basketball program. Responsible for all aspects of team travel working within budget appropriation guardrails. Will manage commercial flights, baggage handlings, charter coordination, buses, rental vans/cars, hotel contracts, team meals and disbursement of per diem as per OSU policy and NCAA rules. Tracks expenditures and effectively stewards funds appropriately. Negotiates on behalf of the university and is heavily responsible for these areas of the women’s basketball budget. Assists in the management of the Head Coaches family travel agreement with the university. Employee is the designee for the Head Coach during Pac- 12 Conference Tournament for all NCAA /Post-Season tournaments. May manage international team travel on occasion which will include appropriate outreach with international authorities on campus and passport/visa acquisition support for students and staff. May manage team awards and designated gifts at the direction of the Head Coach. The person in this position is required to maintain a current, valid driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record.
25% STUDENT - ATHLETE DEVELOPMENT
Advance the strategic priorities for the Women’s Basketball program by providing a holistic developmental approach coordinating several services located in the department and on campus. Utilize data from academic services staff and information from the student-athletes to inform the coach regarding the best utilization of services. Administers Study Hall while the team is traveling; works with hotels and visiting institutions to secure appropriate quiet spaces for study. Assists academic services staff with the test proctoring protocols during road trips. Provides feedback on a regular basis to the Head Coach regarding students requests or perceived needs for additional resources for strength and conditioning; personal counseling; nutrition education; and life skills training. Assists the head coach with Revenue Share decisions, management and conversations. In addition to revenue share, directs student athletes to resources and experts in the department for additional NIL opportunities. Liaisons with Student-Development staff to deliver developmentally appropriate education to student-athletes during the year to include diversity and inclusion initiatives and mandatory NCAA trainings. Liaisons with appropriate staff for housing and dining needs for incoming student-athletes during Bridge and the upcoming academic year. Coordinates pre-game and post-game meals and snacks for the team during home contests; coordinates meals/per diem when the university is not in session and the team is required to practice. Liaison with NCAA Compliance staff for all agent inquiries. Manages ticket requests from student-athletes and staff for all contests. Manages Senior Night in coordination with the marketing team, at the direction of the Head Coach. Purchases Senior Awards utilizing appropriate budget and NCAA compliance approval protocols.
15% LEADERSHIP AND SUPERVISION
Responsible for hiring, training, scheduling, and overseeing student managers. Provides leadership, supervision, and direction for assigned staff. Plans, assigns, reviews work. Advances the strategic plan for Women’s Basketball by establishing goals for each position to be able to assess of performance throughout the evaluation process culminating in a final evaluation near the end of the employment term. May act as the Head Coach designee for facility improvements; external strategy meetings; and internal strategy meetings. Utilizes the Sport Supervisor as a resource and a sounding board to hone strategies around challenges.
10% RECRUITING
Advances the strategic priorities of the Women’s Basketball program by developing innovative approaches to recruiting activities. Main point of contact for incoming student-athletes. Oversee application & arrival process, from the time they sign financial aid agreements until they arrive on campus for BEST . This requires high level involvement and coordination with Compliance and Academics for Student-Athletes. Provide student-athletes and parents with a first-class experience during the campus visit and includes strategic partners on campus and in the department to assist with these events. Coordinates meals and housing for recruits and parents. Evaluates prospective student-athletes based on observations with staff and student-athletes as well as personal interactions to provide input and perspective to the Head Coach. May at times drive recruits and parents to and from airports; or around town and on campus.
10% CAMP OVERSIGHT – YOUTH SAFETY PROGRAM
Employee is the acting Director of Women’s Basketball Camps. At the direction of the Head Coach oversees all aspects of the OSU Women’s Basketball Camps including timing, scope, and frequency. Coordinates pre-approvals with appropriate campus (Risk Management, Youth Safety Programs, Housing, etc.) and departmental authorities( NCAA Compliance, Business Office, Facilities, Sports Medicine, etc.). Hires all employees and secures volunteers utilizing appropriate human resources protocols, Youth Safety Programs trainings, and background check processes. May make independent decisions regarding expenditures around camp enhancement items (merchandise management and snacks, etc.).
10% ALUMNI , DONOR , FAN ENGAGEMENTS On behalf of the Head Coach, provides regular communication for Alumni, Donors, and Fans associated with Women’s Basketball. Coordinates all Alumni events and all aspects of that event (dinners, ticket needs, facility tours, etc.). Engage with donors on a regular basis; educates and provides appropriate boundaries for donors and the general public; coordinates facility tours with appropriate staff in the athletics department at the request of the Head Coach or Athletic Director. Represents the Head Coach during REBOUNDER (Women’s Basketball Fan Group) meetings; provides updates to the Head Coach, Our Beaver Nation, and the Sport Supervisor.
What You Will Need
+ Bachelor’s degree in field of choice.
+ Experience in camps management or similar event management activities.
+ Experience working as a member of a collegiate basketball staff
+ Excellent problem-solving abilities.
+ Demonstrated ability to communicate in a manner that shows respect and inclusivity for student athletes, student workers, colleagues, and all stakeholders.
+ Strong demonstrated skills in the following areas:

This position is designated as a critical or security-sensitive position; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a criminal history check and be determined to be position qualified as per University Standard: 05-010 et seq. Incumbents are required to self-report convictions and those in youth programs may have additional criminal history checks every 24 months.
This position requires driving a university vehicle or a personal vehicle on behalf of the university; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a motor vehicle history check, possess and maintain a current, valid driver’s license in their state of residence, be determined to be position qualified and self-report convictions as per University Policy 05-030.
What We Would Like You to Have

+ Minimum two years full time experience with a Division I Women’s Basketball program
+ Experience with NCAA Post-Season participation.
+ Experience in Budget Management
