Director - Toledo Hospital - Trauma Services - Full Time - Days

The Trauma Director serves as the administrator for our acute and provider trauma services. This director represents patient care in the organization and in the community. They are responsible for promoting high standards of practice through standardizing trauma policies, protocols and practice guidelines. They lead and advocate for best practices of safety, quality, financial stewardship, and continuous performance improvement services.
ACCOUNTABILITIES

1. Leads the acute and provider trauma program practices, protocols, policies, and process improvements.
2. Monitors the acute and provider trauma metrics to align with strategic planning and objectives.
3. Oversight and direct reporting structure with the campus trauma leaders.
4. Develops and sustains ongoing collaboration with the campus executives and leaders for shared awareness.
5. Guides trauma leaders in managing and reporting service line data.
6. Consistent trauma campus rounding to sustain a connected approach.
7. Support the prevention of injury workflow within the campus communities to enhance public education.
8. Provides guidance and support for the trauma service registrar teams best practices.
9. Develops strong partnerships with the trauma medical directors and associated trauma providers.
10. Sustains PHS leadership competencies to support the organizational mission and values.
11. Facilitates organizational and strategic alignment for purposes of quality, safety, and financial stewardship.
12. Models and fosters positive employee/team relations. Creates an environment in which teamwork is encouraged and fostered. Cultivates an environment that reflects the PHS values.
13.Other duties as assigned
Education: Registered nurse and license to practice in the State of Ohio; Masters required.
Skills: Complete hospital/unit professional nurse orientation; leadership competent to expert skills. Communicates in an effective, caring and professional manner with all members of the multidisciplinary team. Reflects the mission and values of ProMedica Health System
Years of Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years clinical experience required and/or similar type of leadership role
License: Ohio Board of Nursing license without restrictions; responsible for maintenance of competency and licensure requirements.
Certification: CPR, ACLS, PALS, TNCC required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education: DNP
License: Michigan Board of Nursing license without restrictions; responsible for maintenance of competency and licensure requirements.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Personal Protective Equipment: Possible exposures to communicable diseases and other conditions common to a clinical environment.
Physical Demands:
Must be able to move about hospital and between workstations; and prolonged periods of standing.
Must be able to tolerate exposure to dust, fumes, chemicals, temperature changes and exposure to blood borne pathogens and bodily fluids.
Must be able to understand directions, communicate and respond to inquiries; requires effective interpersonal skills.
Must be able to move, lift and carry light to heavy patients or equipment.
Must be able to input and retrieve information from computer.
