Director Strategic Sourcing and Procurement

The Director of Strategic Sourcing and Procurement will work closely with key stakeholders throughout the organization and in corporate functions to develop and implement effective cost reduction strategies and solutions. This position will be responsible for building strong cross-functional partnerships that align shared business objectives to increase total value to end customers and for ensuring that purchasing and supplier policies/practices are aligned with the company’s mission and objectives.

Position Responsibilities Include:

Set strategic direction for Procurement department and represent teams both internally (to executive management) and externally (with suppliers and contract partners)Partner with department leaders to Identify areas of opportunity to reduce expense through reporting and consolidation initiativesAccountable for departmental goals, business plans and cost reduction commitments/achievements, using appropriate metrics and benchmarkingImplement controls to target frequent purchases toward approved items.Engage and motivate business partners to align on shared objectivesBe a catalyst for change and break-through solutionsDevelop team and mentor others in strengthening business relationshipsChallenge team to understand cost/benefit/risk balance for key initiativesDirect the management of supply agreement negotiationsDirect the development, implementation and management of simplified processes to facilitate timely, effective contracts between contracting parties. Interface appropriately with Legal departmentManage business partner expectations and elevate critical issues to executive management teamImplement the use of AI auditing tools to increase efficiencies and reduce errors. Conduct regular supplier scorecard meetings.

Position Requirements Include:

Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management/related field or equivalent experience7-10 years’ experience in supply chain and procurement in a large corporate environment Demonstrated experience using a standardized strategic sourcing processRecent history of delivering savings to the bottom line in a large multi-site corporationUnderstanding of e-Sourcing tools Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office SuiteExcellent customer service skills; modeling collaboration and a customer first focusStrong understanding of the needs of internal customers / business partners is criticalSkilled at influencing decisions using qualitative and quantitative data while maintaining enduring partnerships with internal customersStrong understanding of business priorities; ability to work effectively with changing business prioritiesExcellent presentation skills; comfortable presenting to executive leadershipExcellent verbal, active listening, and written communication skillsHighly motivated and self-directed with a strong attention to detailPrevious use of AI tools for Sourcing Procurement activities is preferred
