The Regional Director – Advanced Practice Providers, oversees APP practice across the Indy Metro Region, including operational, financial, and human resources activities. This leader is responsible for aligning the vision, strategy, and direction to ensure optimal performance across key areas such as workforce development, utilization, scope of practice, regulatory compliance (both ambulatory and inpatient), and the professional growth and training of APPs.
Operating within a partnership and matrix structure, the Regional Director collaborates closely with physician, nursing, and operational leaders to provide regional leadership that supports the organization’s mission, vision, and values, while meeting strategic goals and performance targets.
Importantly, this role is not limited to Advanced Practice Registered Nurses (APRNs) alone. We highly value all types of advanced practice providers— including Physician Assistants, Nurse Practitioners, Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs), Certified Anesthesia Assistants (CAAs), and other advanced practice roles. Key Relationships:
Reports to: Vice President – Advanced Practice Providers and Chief Nursing Officer, IUHMG
Direct Reports: 8 Clinical APP Directors
Key Relationships: Department chairs, vice chairs, and executive directors for primary care and community medicine. Collaborates closely with the IMR and IUHMG executive leadership teams.
Candidate Qualifications:
Candidates for the position will be selected from a diverse pool and will be evaluated according to the following criteria and competencies.
•Master's Degree is required.
•Doctorate Degree preferred.
•Requires 7-10 years of relevant experience.
•Maintains license and board certification within the state of Indiana.
•Maintains prescriptive authority if required in practice setting.
•Requires a Master's prepared advanced practice degree such as Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant, Clinical Nurse Specialist, or equivalent.
•A minimum of 5 years of progressively more responsible related work experience in a clinical setting with 3 to 5 years of concurrent management or informal leadership experience in order to gain knowledge of administration and operation of physician practices.
•A Master of Health Administration or a Master of Business Administration degree and 1 to 2 years' experience in an ambulatory setting may be accepted in lieu of management experience.
•Ability to occasionally lift/move/carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
