Director Physician Strategy Summary:
Responsible for shaping and executing strategies that drive physician alignment, expand access, and strengthen BayCare’s competitive position in key markets. Works closely with the Vice President and Chief Medical Officer for Ambulatory Services and other senior leaders to advance BayCare’s long-term vision for integrated, high-value care delivery. Designs and implements physician alignment strategies across a spectrum of models, including direct employment, PSAs, MSOs/MSAs, CINs, and joint ventures and partners with clinical and operational leaders to align physician enterprise strategy with access, quality, and financial performance goals. Leads strategic planning for BayCare Medical Group (BMG) growth, including network design, recruitment priorities, and site expansion and develop innovative access models (e.g., hybrid care, virtual platforms, urgent care, retail clinics, ASCs) to meet evolving consumer and market needs. Collaborates with Total Rewards, Legal, and Compliance to structure physician compensation models that support alignment and regulatory compliance. Conducts market assessments to identify at-risk geographies and emerging competitive threats and develops and executes market-specific strategies to grow volumes, enhance physician loyalty, and defend service area share. Partners with regional and service line leaders to localize strategic initiatives while maintaining system-wide alignment and leads competitive response planning, including scenario modeling and strategic positioning. Translates enterprise priorities into actionable market and physician-level strategies. Facilitates cross-functional strategy sessions with ambulatory, physician, and operational leaders and collaborates with analytics teams to monitor KPIs and performance metrics tied to growth and integration. Prepares high-impact presentations and updates for executive leadership, board committees, and physician governance bodies.
Minimum Qualifications:
Required Education and Experience:
Master’s degree in Health Administration; Business Administration; Public Health, or a related field. Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in healthcare strategy, physician enterprise leadership, or ambulatory network development.
Preferred Experience:
Experience within large integrated health systems or physician-led organizations; Familiarity with Florida’s healthcare landscape and regulatory environment; and Deep understanding of physician alignment models and ambulatory care strategy.
