What you'll do The Director of Pharmacy Business Services, receiving general direction from the Chief Pharmacy Officer, the incumbent is responsible for setting direction and coordinating the business and finance activities of the Network Departments of Pharmacy. Drawing on a broad understanding of various pharmacy system operations models, practices, and policies, and displaying a high degree of initiative and independent judgment, the incumbent will collaborate closely with departmental and organizational leadership to continually assess and direct a wide range of issues, including operational, personnel, budgetary, facilities and systems issues, programmatic development, long-range planning and project development. The incumbent will work with clinical and non-clinical staff members to optimize operational and cost efficiencies wherever possible. Possesses a thorough knowledge of the regulatory environment as it relates to pharmacy Part B and Part D reimbursement and compliance, contract management, and 340B Pharmacy Operations. Requires discretion and judgment to organize priorities, complete tasks and handle confidential information responsible for providing to the overall strategic direction for the management of the pharmaceutical supply chain across Bassett Healthcare Network (BHN). Maintains appropriate working relationships with pharmacy leaders and executive leaders across the organization. Ensures the highest level of customer service and develops plans to continually upgrade service level. Serves as a primary contact for pharmaceutical sales representatives, vendors, and distributors. Allocates and assigns staff to meet departmental, institutional and organizational service needs. Directs and oversees the day-to-day pharmacy financials including but not limited to budgeting, benchmarking, purchasing, variances etc. Ensures effective compliance with the pharmacy budgets across the organization. Participates in development of annual pharmacy budgets and manages resources within budget guidelines. Establishes goals and objectives regarding continuous cost reduction initiatives through inventory management. Reviews, analyzes and recommends changes/enhancements to programs, processes, and policies to increase efficiency and effectiveness of pharmaceutical supply chain management across the system. Identifies inventory performance standards and ensures those standards are maintained throughout all pharmacies. Works collaboratively with the pharmacy management team and others across the organization to design and implement financial controls, analysis, operating systems, and internal controls in a manner consistent with corporate policies, procedures and compliance guidelines. Directs and oversees the supply chain management of pharmaceuticals across the system. Provides consultative support to planning initiatives through financial and management information analyses, reports, and recommendations. Participates in in relevant internal and external committees. Coordinates the flow of financial and supply chain information throughout the pharmacy to ensure the appropriate individuals are involved in all matters. Maintains drug wholesaler data and manages pharmacy supply chain productivity indicators, and benchmarks. Ensures full participation in GPO agreements to maximize price savings, rebates, and commitments. Conducts pharmaceutical payor contracting for the organization, enrollment in PSAO group offerings, HIN number management, and third-party reconciliation oversight. Identifies opportunities to improve processes and enhance revenue capture. Oversees drug replacement and patient assistance programs. Performs other duties as assigned What we need from you Education: 4 Year/Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance or related area and Master’s Degree – Business Administration or Healthcare Administration, required 4 Year/Bachelor’s Degree and/or Doctorate Degree from an Accredited Pharmacy Program, preferred Experience: Minimum 3 to 5 years’ experience in healthcare, pharmacy management/operations, and finance, required Skills: Time Management Manage People Leadership Accountability Communication Team Building Manage Programs Physical Requirements: Light Work - Exerting up to 20 lbs of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. Pay Range Salary is based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training, and fair market evaluation based on industry standards. The above compensation range represents a good faith belief of the compensation range by Bassett Healthcare Network, and its entities and affiliates, at the time of this posting or advertisement. Pay Range Minimum: USD $146,959.00/Yr. Pay Range Maximum: USD $220,438.51/Yr.
