Job Description
THE OPPORTUNITY:
In this role as Director, Operations, you will provide end to end leadership of IPT Biotech, with the key objectives of:
Providing tactical and strategic direction to the IPT in terms of defining clear performance objectives, in line with the site key deliverables and supporting the site 5 Year Plan.
Ensuring smooth running of all operations (including cross functional interactions) within the IPT, with a focus on delivering on the Run the Business and Strategic KPIs associated with the area.
Promote and role model behaviours and leadership skills to enable an inclusive environment while maintaining a high degree of focus on accountability and adherence to standards set within the IPT.
In addition, this role will be a member of the Singapore Site Leadership Team (SLT).
What will you do:
Serves as a member of Site Leadership Team and ensures alignment of site 5 year plan to GPO strategy. Provides direction to the IPT to establish and develop tactical plans to support delivery of site key deliverables.
Represents IPT and site to other organizations as needed. Cultivates good relations with all customers both internal and external.
Promotes a culture of open communication within the IPT and with all COEs supporting the IPT.
Collaborates with other Operations Leaders within Singapore to share best practices and collaborate on synergistic areas such as talent development.
IPT Leadership
Ensures all customer service and satisfaction targets for the IPT targets are met, including quality and on-time delivery
Optimizes production planning in collaboration with key stakeholders and participates in Firm Plan meetings
Ensures IPT cycle time targets are established and the targets achieved, with targets determined in alignment with product Value Stream Maps.
Defines IPT lean metric targets and leads weekly and/or monthly reviews to monitor performance, identify trends, facilitate development of action plans, and track completion of action plans
Ensures IPT related capacity reviews are completed and effectively managed Operations
Leads daily IPT walk-through and prioritizes IPT resources to resolve identified issues and/or unplanned events with agility and flexibility
Ensures effective use of Visual Factory tools during walk-through and facilitates further development as required
Ensures all IPT members are appropriately trained and skilled to complete their assigned tasks and responsibilities in accordance with their roles.
Actively sponsor and support the deployment and sustainment of MPS Foundational Competencies in the business area, achieving the main business challenge goals aligned to the site 5-year plan.
Quality / SHE Stewardship
Quality
Promotes a Quality culture within the IPT and proactively supports Permanent Inspection Readiness and cGMP compliance
Ensures all deviations/atypicals and customer complaints are fully investigated with any proposed actions effectively implemented within the agreed time frame to continually improve processes, prevent waste, and eliminate rework
Ensures production support activities are completed according to established procedures and supports the IPT in improving "Right First Time" performance through deviation reduction and the provision of error proofed documentation
Ensures direct reports receive required cGMP and role related training required to work safely and in compliance with regulatory requirements as identified in their individual training plan
Manages SOPs to ensure compliance to regulatory standards and ensures documents are generated and maintained to the required standards and appropriate frequency
Ensures technical documentation is made available during regulatory inspections, provides technical expertise and implements corrective actions as documented following regulatory inspections and internal audits
Safety, Health & Environment
Works with EHS COE to maintain and improve SHE performance within the IPT, including but not limited to ensuring SHE Risk Management & Change Management systems are effective, work area risks are communicated and adequately controlled
Ensures all direct reports are trained in accordance with SHE policies and guidelines
Demonstrates and promotes SHE leadership behaviours to all direct reports and engages employees at all levels on SHE issues
Participates in and supports implementation of actions for all Incident Investigations and Audits
People Management
Ensures effective utilization of Performance Management Process (PMP), performance objectives are developed timely, regular feedback is provided to direct reports, and employees are appropriately rewarded based on performance and demonstration of our Enterprise Leadership Skills.
Ensures all direct reports have a development plan which will support achievement of objectives and future professional growth. Responsible for developing an Employee Development Plan (EDP) with all direct reports and effectively provide coaching input/feedback to enable their career growth.
Maintains positive working relationships among employees and fosters an environment where employee engagement, empowerment, teamwork, and accountability are the norm.
Provides effective, regular and timely communication to their team and ensures that continuous feedback is given to support team performance.
Collaborates with site leadership to effectively enable and promote talent development and succession planning within the site, thus enabling growth and progress of the talent pipeline within the IPT and site.
Continuously demonstrates and role model leadership behaviours in alignment with our Enterprise Leadership Skills.
WHAT YOU MUST HAVE
Qualification:
Bachelor’s Degree in Biochemical or Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry, Chemistry or related field.
Experience:
At least 10 years of relevant experience within Pharmaceutical or other manufacturing industry including.
One or more leadership roles in Manufacturing, Technical Operations, Quality Operations, Engineering, and/or Production Planning.
Demonstrated experience in one or more of the following areas will be a distinct advantage:
Sterile operations
MPS Foundational Competencies deployment and sustainment
Personal Attributes:
Effectively demonstrate and advocate Inclusive Behaviors.
Effective communication skills, both oral and written.
Ability to coach, motivate and lead others through change.
Strategic thinker with the ability to provide clarity of priorities to enable delivery of site and IPT key deliverables, aligned to the site 5 year plan.
