Director of Wellness
Colonial Country Club is excited to announce the exceptional career opportunity of Director of Health and Wellness. 

Responsible for the management, supervision, and financial performance of the facility, main campus pool, and South pool, and to actively engage with current members to introduce and promote the concepts of Health and Wellness and the Center’s ability to develop personalized, first-class programs.

Essential Duties:

- Teaches some group classes

- Responsible for implementing and maintaining excellent service to achieve member satisfaction

- Leads by example to create memorable moments by personalizing the member experience and actively promoting a fun and social atmosphere

- Fosters a team environment

- Provides tours of the facility to new members and shares details on all programs. Assures that each new member receives an orientation to the Health and Wellness Facility

- Prepares and monitors annual budget, revenue goals and expenses for the Health and Wellness Facility as well as generating various (weekly, monthly, etc.) business volume forecasts and planning accordingly, including development of class and program fees and monitoring trends in our competitive set

- Reviews and analyzes various financial results/reports to monitor overall Health and Wellness Facility performance and take any corrective actions that may be needed.

- Negotiates and manages vendor contracts including, but not limited to cleaning contractors and cardio/strength equipment maintenance contractors.

- Ensures a comprehensive and dynamic schedule of classes and programs is offered for members of all ages, abilities and skill levels. Monitors all classes, programs, and special events and helps when necessary.

- Resolves customer service issues in a timely and effective manner.

- Monitors facilities for continual quality assurance and attention to detail.

- Generates ideas to improve and expand current programs and offerings and continually research opportunities to increase member involvement and increase revenue

- Provides social media and website content to General Manager and/or Sales & Marketing Manager to promote activities and the social environment of the Health and Wellness Facility

- Develops and promotes Health, Mindfulness and Wellness services and programs to include but not be limited to: Massage, Physical Therapy, Wellness Checks, Diet and Nutrition

- Implements policies and procedures for the Health and Wellness Facility, including compliance of all company standards relating to quality of products and services

- Works with GM to update policies and rules and regulations, and strategic vision for the Club to provide a premier member fitness and wellness experience

- Responsible for ensuring proper building maintenance and overall cleanliness of all athletic areas.

- Effectively coordinates all events and activities that may include food and beverage with the Club’s Director of F&B.

- Responsible for interviewing, hiring, training, planning, assigning, and directing work, evaluating performance, addressing complaints and resolving problems.

- Manages department members that may include, but is not limited to: Fitness Instructors, Personal Trainers, Massage Therapists, other Health and Wellness Professionals and Front Desk staff.

- Assures that effective orientation and training are given to each new associate. Develops ongoing training programs.

- Works closely with Chef and F&B Director to promote healthy food options and daily specials. Works with Fitness Instructors to provide menu suggestions to Chef to help complement Health and Wellness programs

- Responsible for selecting, purchasing, and merchandising fitness items for sale in the Health and Wellness Facility. Process special orders, manage inventory levels and work closely with Troon Procurement department and Tennis Shop merchandiser to ensure compliance with preferred vendors and to take advantage of Troon contract pricing

- Monitors business volume forecast and plans accordingly in areas of manpower, productivity, costs and other expenses.

- Manages point of sale system, on-line reservation system and other technology to effectively market and communicate to the membership

- Responsible for implementing and maintaining excellent service to foster an engaging social environment and to exceed member expectations.

- Builds strong member relationships through effective communication

- Communicates any changes or new policies and procedures to the department and the members.

- Participates in Department Head meetings and works to create synergies across all departments to enhance the member experience and achieve and maintain Distinguished Club status

- Prepares and delivers reports and presentations to the Board and GM as requested

- Regular and reliable attendance.

Education/Experience:

Bachelor’s degree (BA); or five to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

Pay: $90,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
