Position Summary:
The Christine E. Lynn College of Nursing is seeking an Assistant/Associate/Professor – Practice Teaching Track and Director of the DNP Program. We are seeking candidates to join our community of scholars who are passionate about nursing and want to thrive in a creative and caring work environment. FAU’s Christine E. Lynn College of Nursing is known internationally for its dedication to Caring: expanding the science, practicing the art, studying the meaning, and living it day-to-day. We offer four-degree programs (BSN, MSN, DNP and PhD) and post-graduate certificates with curricula that are unique and caring-based with opportunities for interprofessional education. Our BSN, MSN, DNP and Post-Graduate certificate programs are accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). Currently we have two concentrations in the DNP program: BSN to DNP and Post Masters DNP.
Candidates for this non-tenure earning position should be a nurse with a DNP degree and should have experience working in an administrative role within healthcare systems and academic experience. This position reports to the Assistant Dean of Graduate Practice Programs and is focused on academic excellence in the academic program. The 12-month appointment position is anticipated to start in August 2025.
The selected applicant for this position will have two appointments: DNP Director and Associate Professor/Professor – Practice Teaching Track. The descriptions below explain the duties and responsibilities of each role.
DNP Program Director
The Director of the DNP Program will provide visionary leadership and strategic direction for the DNP program. This role involves overseeing the development, implementation, and evaluation of the DNP curriculum, ensuring the program meets accreditation standards, and fostering an environment of academic excellence and innovation.
Expectations and responsibilities of this assignment include:
+ Lead the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of the DNP curriculum.
+ Provide leadership in the development and implementation of the DNP program’s strategic goals and objectives.
+ Develop additional pathways for the DNP in addition to the APRN track (e.g. executive, health policy, etc.).
+ Oversee the daily operations of the DNP program including faculty development.
+ Chair DNP committee meetings.
+ Participate in hiring faculty.
+ Participate in scheduling designated courses and making teaching assignments.
+ Collaborate with academic advisors to manage and track student recruitment, enrollment, retention and completion.
+ Manage admission processes of students. Manage the organization and maintenance of records.
+ Manage student placements in DNP project and leadership courses.
+ Provide student advisement.
+ Give oversight and collaborate with faculty and the Center for Online Learning and Continuing Education (COCE) to ensure online course development and maintenance.
+ Participate in program evaluation and accreditation.
+ Foster and create educational opportunities where all students thrive.
+ Provide input to the Assistant or Associate Deans on essential matters.
+ Collaborate with the Assistant Dean of Graduate Programs, Associate Dean of Academics, and APRN Coordinators.
+ Collaborate with healthcare organizations, community partners, and other academic institutions to enhance the DNP program.
+ Represent the DNP program at local, regional, and national levels.
+ Engage in scholarly activities, including research/scholarship, publications and presentations.
Associate/Professor - Practice Teaching Track

Minimum Qualifications:
1. Doctor of Nursing Practice degree in Nursing.
2. Current, unencumbered RN license and eligibility for RN licensure in the state of Florida by time of application.
3. Minimum 5 years of experience in nursing education with at least 3 years in an administrative role within healthcare systems or higher education.
4. Demonstrated expertise in curriculum development and accreditation processes.
5. Strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.
6. Evidence of research/scholarship productivity including dissemination of accomplishments.
Preferred Qualifications
1. Focused area of scholarly inquiry aligned with College initiatives. Our scholarship advances caring science within the nursing discipline.
2. Advanced practice graduate degree preferred, with experience in systems/organizational leadership, health policy, or public health.
3. Experience leading or participating in PhD and DNP collaborations.
