Caterpillar does business on every continent, principally operating through three primary segments – Construction Industries, Resource Industries and Energy & Transportation – and providing financing and related services through our Financial Products segment. **What You Will Do:** The Director of Supply Chain for our Product Support and Logistics Division (PSLD) will manage a multi-location team that oversees the supply chain working with suppliers to ensure availability of parts to support aftermarket customer orders. In alignment with Enterprise partners, this leader will also develop, implement, and manage the supply chain strategies and solutions for the Americas division. PSLD is responsible for the worldwide distribution of Caterpillar aftermarket parts, integrated logistics, and the global service organization. **Responsibilities:** + Lead Aftermarket supply chain execution with North and South America suppliers to ensure optimal parts availability, while exceeding customer expectations. Leads communications with operations, procurement, logistics, and distribution to establish integrated processes to streamline supply chains. + Collaborate closely with Caterpillar internal and external suppliers to optimize short- and long-term shipping performance. + Work closely with procurement organizations on aftermarket assurance of supply, supply resiliency, and supplier initiatives that benefits the Enterprise supply chain. + Lead communication efforts on order and supply status for dealers and customers and manage urgent customer requests to expedite supply when needed. + Interacting with internal manufacturing facilities on production schedules and expected deliverables. + Lead leaders responsible for logistics specialists career planning, including training, hiring, and coaching. + Establish key performance metrics and benchmarks to guide supply chain planning and execution; monitoring planned vs. actual performance and presents results to senior management. **Degree Requirement:** + Bachelor’s Degree required. Preferably in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field. + MBA preferred **.** **Skill Descriptors:** **Service Excellence:** Knowledge of customer service concepts and techniques; ability to meet or exceed customer needs and expectations and provide excellent service in a direct or indirect manner. **Consulting:** Knowledge of techniques, roles, and responsibilities in providing technical or business guidance to suppliers both internal and external; ability to apply consulting knowledge appropriately. **Influencing:** Knowledge of effective influencing tactics and strategies; ability to impact decisions within and outside own organization under challenging circumstances. **Problem Solving:** Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems, leveraging technology where applicable. **Strategic Thinking:** Knowledge of the importance of "big picture" thinking and planning; ability to apply organizational acumen and competitiveness to identify and maintain focus on key success factors for the organization. **Supplier Management:** Knowledge of processes and methods to effectively manage business relationships and transactions with suppliers of raw materials or product components; ability to apply related knowledge, experience and skills into real practice. **Logistics Management:** Knowledge of the processes, tools and operational considerations for effective and efficient movement of goods and materials; ability to understand, predict and control the movement of goods, materials and supplies. **Desired Skills:** + Experience working with procurement and Caterpillar suppliers to improve performance. + Ability to drive transformational projects leveraging technology and lean. + Ability to influence at all levels of the organization, strong presentation and communication skills. **Location:** + This role will be based out of our Morton, IL office. Domestic relocation is offered for this role. **Additional Details:** + Up to 25% travel required in this role. + This role is based on-site, five days a week. + This position is eligible for stock or other equity grants pursuant to Caterpillar’s long-term incentive plan. **Summary Pay Range:** $185,400.00 - $278,160.00 Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience.
