**Job Summary:**
Key Responsibilities:
+ Develop and implement a structured remediation process in collaboration with AEO, OSL, and Phase Deans-includes identifying challenges, creating individualized action plans, tracking progress, and revising as needed.
+ Serve as course director for an individualized mastery course, managing student schedules, assessments, and faculty support across all four years.
+ Establish systems for tracking and evaluation, including metrics for success, policy review, and data collection on student engagement and outcomes.
+ Assess and advocate for faculty/staff needs to support student success, such as learning specialists and executive function or professionalism coaches.
+ Chair the Trek Progress Committee to ensure consistent application of student progress standards, lead case reviews, and coordinate student handoffs between phases.
+ Collaborate with key committees-including Student Promotions, Professionalism, and CSC-by contributing to policy development, participating in meetings, and presenting annual student progress updates.
+ Support students on Academic Warning by identifying deficiencies, creating and tracking individualized remediation plans, and providing direct coaching when appropriate.
+ Collaborate with OSL to implement a structured "learning to learn" curriculum and ensure integrated academic support resources for all students.
+ Build and support a dedicated faculty team for student remediation and the Trek Progress Committee, while providing coaching and consultation for clinical faculty working with struggling students.
+ Collaborate with OSL to enhance faculty development and implement a structured "learning to learn" curriculum, strengthening the skills of COMPASS guides, LIC directors, and others supporting student success.

**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ Knowledge and experience of the CU School of Medicine and its curriculum.
+ Demonstrated experience working with struggling learners or conducting remediation
+ Experience working with faculty and students in a higher education or healthcare setting.
+ Leadership experience, including supervising teams, managing budgets, and collaborating across organizational levels.
+ Previous experience developing and implementing strategic initiatives.
+ Proven experience working with community organizations and healthcare facilities
**Knowledge, Skills and Abilities**
+ Excellent written and oral communication
+ Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships across multidisciplinary teams.
+ Strong understanding of clinical education models and medical education curriculum, including clerkship phases and integrated clerkship approaches.
+ Commitment to fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion in medical education and training environments.
+ Ability to cultivate relationships with people who enjoy teaching, who can inspire students and support the educational process and values of life-long learning of the CU School of Medicine.

The University of Colorado School of Medicine (CUSOM) seeks an innovative and collaborative Student Progress Director to serve under the Associate Dean for Medical Education - Office of Assessment, Evaluations and Outcomes (AEO). The Student Progress Director will work to provide strategic leadership in student remediation, academic progression, and faculty development within the University of Colorado School of Medicine MD program. This role works in close partnership with the Office of Student Life (OSL), COMPASS Guides, curriculum leaders, and key committees including the Student Promotions Committee, Student Professionalism Committee, and Curriculum Steering Committee (CSC) to implement a structured, data-driven approach to remediation. Responsibilities will also include developing individualized remediation action plans for students on academic warning, directing a mastery course for individual students as part of remediation, and working directly with students on academic warning. Additionally, the Director leads faculty development initiatives aimed at enhancing the institution's ability to support struggling learners through training, mentorship, and resource coordination. Supervision Received: This position reports directly to the Associate Dean for AEO. Supervision Exercised: This position does not have direct supervisory responsibilities but will serve as Chair of the Trek Progress Committee. The role includes indirect supervision of program coordinators and faculty involved in student support and remediation processes.
