As the Director of Student Access and Opportunity at the Minnesota Department of Education (MDE), you will lead efforts to coordinate educational support systems that are effective, efficient, and designed to support equitable educational outcomes for all students, particularly for historically underserved student groups. Duties will include:
+ Providing consultation development, implementation and evaluation of education programs and services, directing financial support, and overseeing reporting and accountability systems to evaluate program effectiveness.
+ Overseeing program partnerships and initiatives, state and federal grant programs, and aligns activities of the division to agency priorities and statewide goals.

Seven (7) years of related professional experience
OR
A bachelor's or master's degree and six (6) years of related professional experience
Experience must include:
+ Past Supervisory or Managerial experience
+ At least five (5) years leading implementation of federal Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESA) policy and programs at the SEA or LEA level
+ At least three (3) years leading the development and implementation of policy related to English learners or multi-lingual learners at the SEA or LEA level
**Preferred Qualifications**
+ Demonstrated experience removing systemic barriers to high quality educational access, opportunity, participation, and outcomes
+ Demonstrated experience leading large-scale system supports for resilient youth, including those experiencing homelessness and those in facilities identified as neglected or delinquent
+ Demonstrated experience leading the implementation of services for migratory students and families at the SEA or LEA level
+ Demonstrated experience leading language acquisition and multi-lingual learner programming, including dual-language programs
+ Demonstrated experience leading annual counts of students in facilities identified as neglected or delinquent
+ Demonstrated experience with federal accountability and performance reporting through the EDEN/EdFacts and CSPR files
