As a Director of Software Engineering at JPMorgan Chase within the Commercial and Investment Bank's Athena Risk team, you will be leading a team of senior engineers to deliver on strategic priorities for the Lines of Businesses. You will collaborate with Product Owners to drive multiple complex projects and initiatives, while serving as a primary decision maker for your team  and be a driver of innovation and solution delivery.

Lead a team of engineers focusing on building and enhancing our risk platform. Manage team performance, including coaching for career growth and fostering a healthy team environment.Make decisions that influence team's resources and the execution and implementation of processes and procedures.Lead technology and process implementations to achieve functional technology objectives. Engage in hands-on coding as part of regular workload, ensuring technical excellence and innovation.Influence peer leaders and senior stakeholders across the business, product, and technology teamsChampion the firm’s culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect

 

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 10+ years applied experience. In addition, 5+ years of experience leading technologists to manage, anticipate and solve complex technical items within your domain of expertiseExpert experience leading technologists to manage, anticipate and solve complex technical items within your domain of expertise.Experience with hiring, developing, and recognizing talentExperience developing or leading cross-functional teams of technologists.Deep knowledge of cross-asset/cross-business Risk platformsPython coding experience and still keen to be hands-onSolid understanding of distributed frameworksPractical cloud native experienceKnowledge of KubernetesExperience working at code levelExperience leading a product in a role of a Technical Lead

 

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

Expertise in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical fieldExperience with SDLC in a continuous delivery frameworkSpecialized knowledge of risk in particular asset class- eg Rates, Credit, Equities
