As the Director of Software Engineering at JPMorgan Chase within Asset and Wealth Management - Private Equity, you will lead a technical area and promote impact across teams, technologies, and projects within various departments. You will leverage your extensive knowledge of software, applications, technical processes, and product management to oversee multiple complex projects and initiatives. In this role, you will serve as the primary decision maker for your teams and act as a catalyst for innovation and solution delivery.

Job Responsibilities:

Leads technology and process implementations to achieve functional technology objectivesMakes decisions that influence teams’ resources, budget, tactical operations, and the execution and implementation of processes and proceduresCarries governance accountability for coding decisions, control obligations, and measures of success such as cost of ownership, maintainability, and portfolio operationsDelivers technical solutions that can be leveraged across multiple businesses and domainsInfluences peer leaders and senior stakeholders across the business, product, and technology teamsChampions the firm’s culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect

 

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 10+ years applied experience. In addition,  5+ years of experience leading technologists to manage, anticipate and solve complex technical items within your domain of expertiseProven experience of  leading a team of engineers to deliver mission critical projectsExperience developing or leading cross-functional teams of technologistsHands-on practical to manage tech resources and guide them in tech architecture, design and coding best practices in an Investment Management firmAdvanced in AWS, Java, React JS, and JavaScript  Advanced functional knowledge and experience of Private Equity BusinessAbility to manage technology work pipeline using Agile and SDLCWritten and verbal communication covering tech, product and business stakeholdersExecutive presence and ability to influence Senior leaders in Private Equity Businesses 

Expertise in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field

Knowledge in Python Understanding of Data structures and data management 

Experience using BI tools
