The Director of SEC Reporting and Technical Accounting manages the Company’s SEC reporting and technical accounting functions, in addition to managing stock compensation and VIE investments. This role entails a complex technical accounting background and ability to work with internal and external constituents to evaluate the accounting for key issues impacting the business. This role has a heavy focus on proactively managing the SEC reporting cycle year-round with a continuous improvement mindset. The Director will set the tone for the quality, timeliness and accuracy of the work performed.

Oversees SEC filings process Oversees technical accounting research

Critical and Essential Tasks

Ensures timely filing of all quarterly and yearly sec reportsPerforms research on key technical accounting topicsImplements newly adopted accounting standardsProvides accounting considerations for strategic and non-recurring transactionsReviews/prepares technical accounting memorandumsManages, stock compensation and equity interestsPartners with internal constituents (operations, legal, treasury, and communications) regarding quarterly, annual and ad hoc filingsLiaisons with external constituents (internal audit and external auditors) regarding SEC and technical accounting mattersAssists with special projects, as needed

Requirements

Experience

10+ years progressive experience in a SEC reporting and technical accounting function

Education

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from a four-year college or university

CPA license, Master’s degree in Accounting required; Big Four experience preferred

Technical & Professional Skills

Demonstrated strong knowledge and experience in SEC reporting and accountingDemonstrated success in partnering and presenting to C-Suite, partners or national officeAbility to articulate issues to executive management working towards joint conclusionsDemonstrated technical research and writing skillsAbility to leverage others within the organization to diligently gather factsDemonstrated strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills; attention to detail and accuracy in work; and time management and organizational skillsDemonstrated leadership experience and department managementDemonstrated knowledge of various accounting software packages such as Equity Edge, Workiva wDesk , Workday and Microsoft Office with proficiency in EXCEL
