Director of Salesforce Engineering

Summary

Guidewire is looking to direct a material change in the way we drive value from our internal applications. With the changing technology landscape, and the growth of our business, there is an opportunity to rethink how we deliver to our stakeholders and the impact our software has on the business. In order to achieve this, we are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Salesforce Engineering. This role will be responsible for overseeing the development, implementation, and ongoing operations of the Salesforce platform. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent stakeholder management, proven leadership and managerial skills, a strategic mindset to drive innovation, and ensure appropriate efficiency throughput across the engineering team.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

Define and implement a clear vision and roadmap for internal application development strategy aligned with organizational goals.

Lead and manage the internal engineering teams and contractors responsible for internal applications, ensuring alignment with business goals and objectives.

Drive the development, customization, and integration of Salesforce and other internal applications to meet the needs of business stakeholders.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including, Sales, Professional Services, Product Development and Finance to understand their requirements and deliver effective solutions.

Develop and implement best practices for software development, deployment, and maintenance, ensuring high performance, security, and scalability.

Identify opportunities for innovation within the internal systems and processes and look outward to provide best in class solutions and practices.

Manage application / platform project timelines, budgets, and resources and capacity, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within scope.

Mentor and develop engineering team members, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, accountability, and professional growth.

Direct the team utilizing KPI’s and data to inform decision making.

Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and best practices.

Manage budget across applications, projects and services within a portfolio.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

10+ years of experience in software engineering, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.

Proven experience managing, innovating on and optimizing Salesforce.

Strong understanding of software development methodologies, including Agile and DevOps.

Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make data-driven decisions.

Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.

Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire a diverse team of global engineers.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $170,000 - $298,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
