The Director of Sales will be responsible for spearheading the brand’s growth in key retailers across the central US. This is a high-visibility leadership role focused on strategic growth, cross-functional collaboration, and fostering enduring customer relationships. The ideal candidate is both a visionary and a hands-on executor – someone who flourishes in a fast-paced, high-impact environment. We are looking for a strategic, collaborative and experienced Director of Sales to build out and lead the Midwest/South Central market.
Specifically, you will:
Lead, coach, and mentor NAM and CFA Teams to drive alignment with company strategy, vision, and management philosophiesEffectively engage cross functional resources (Marketing, Retail Operations, Supply Chain, and AG) to ensure BrightFarms is delivering fanatical customer service to all customersDevelop strategic growth planning for all established customers and new channel opportunitiesCollaborate with the Sales Strategy to leverage syndicated data (e.g., Nielsen, Circana) and retailer-specific insights to track execution performance, identify gaps, and recommend improvement actionsCollaborate with Statistical Forecasting Team to manage forecasting across all business segments, including entry into trade and forecasting systemsCultivate professional relationships at all levels of the broker organization to assure expectations are broadly communicated and implementedWork closely with the SVP of Sales to execute customer-specific JBP (Joint Business Plans) to secure long-term growth initiatives that align with overall company objectives and volume/revenue/gross profit growth targetsThe ideal candidate:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience is required7+ years of national sales experience within the Produce or Perishable CPG industriesThe ability to lead, prioritize, collaborate, and execute complex projectsAbility to develop and execute strategic multi-year sales plans that drive measurable results.Excellent written, verbal, and critical thinking skills; must be able to present data in an organized manner to tell and effective storyAble to demonstrate experience in sales, persuasion, high level negotiation for a large channel leading customerManage needs and concerns of multiple stakeholders across various business systems both internal and externalMust be able to build strong relationships with key decision-makers within the customer and bottling systemPossess the ability to be a situational leader with the business acumen to find win-win business solutions in a fast-paced operating environmentPreferred qualifications:
Experience with Costco, HEB, Meijer, Hy-VeeCategory management and database management experienceLocation/Travel:
This position will be remote in the Midwest/South Central area with approximately 50% travel.
