**Additional Information:** This hotel is owned and operated by an independent franchisee, Tanis Hospitality Management, LLC. The franchisee is a separate company and a separate employer from Marriott International, Inc. The franchisee solely controls all aspects of the hotel’s employment policies and practices, including hiring, firing, discipline, staffing, compensation, benefits, and all other terms and conditions of employment. If you accept a position at this hotel, you will be employed by a franchisee and not by Marriott International, Inc.
As the Director of Sales, you will be responsible for leading and driving the hotel’s sales efforts to achieve revenue goals, maintain strong client relationships, and ensure the hotel’s continued growth and success. This role focuses on developing and executing sales strategies targeting corporate, group, government, and leisure markets, while working closely with hotel leadership to deliver exceptional guest experiences and maximize profitability.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve or exceed budgeted revenue goals in rooms, group bookings, and meeting space.
+ Proactively identify, target, and secure new business opportunities in key market segments (corporate, government, SMERF, leisure, etc.).
+ Maintain and grow relationships with existing clients, travel managers, corporate accounts, and local businesses.
+ Collaborate with the General Manager and regional sales leaders to align strategies and share market insights.
+ Conduct regular site tours, client meetings, and property presentations.
+ Manage all sales activities, including prospecting, lead management, proposals, contracts, and follow-ups.
+ Monitor and analyze market trends, competitor activity, and hotel performance data.
+ Prepare and present monthly sales reports and forecasts to hotel management.
+ Represent the hotel at local networking events, trade shows, and industry functions to strengthen brand presence.
+ Ensure all Marriott brand standards and sales policies are upheld.
Qualifications:
+ Bachelor’s degree in Business, Hospitality, Marketing, or related field (or equivalent experience).
+ Minimum of 3–5 years of hotel sales experience, preferably with Marriott or another major brand.
+ Strong knowledge of the Baltimore BWI Airport market and the surrounding area is a plus.
+ Proven track record of achieving sales targets and growing market share.
+ Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
+ Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects.
+ Proficiency with Marriott sales systems (e.g., CI/TY, SalesPro) and Microsoft Office Suite.
+ Flexibility to work some evenings, weekends, and travel for client meetings or events as needed.
