Comcast NBCUniversal has announced its intent to create a new publicly traded company ('Versant') comprised of most of NBCUniversal's cable television networks, including USA Network, CNBC, MSNBC, Oxygen, E!, SYFY and Golf Channel along with complementary digital assets Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes, GolfNow, GolfPass, and SportsEngine. The well-capitalized company will have significant scale as a pure-play set of assets anchored by leading news, sports and entertainment content. The spin-off is expected to be completed during 2025.

Job Description

We are looking for a strategic and commercially driven Director of Sales, Parks to lead business development and drive growth across the UK, Ireland, and broader EMEA markets.

This role sits within the EMEA Sales Division of Universal Destinations & Experiences, a subsidiary of our global entertainment group headquartered in Orlando, Florida, which operates Universal theme parks and resort properties worldwide.

With a strong travel industry focus, this role is responsible for leading our sales strategy and partnerships to support destination growth across our portfolio. Please note: this position is not part of our media division, which includes Universal Pictures, NBC Networks, or NBC Media, though we are part of the same global family.

To be successful in this role you will be an experienced and strategic leader who can guide a high-performing sales and business development team to deliver sustainable growth in a product-led, partner-focused environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering our point-of-origin sales goals, driving commercial performance through revenue growth, new product adoption, and delivering value creation aligned with broader business objectives.

This role will be responsible for driving results within an established distribution model as well as overseeing growth in evolving digital platforms. The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to leverage current capabilities and navigate future technologies within our roadmap. They will also bring strong commercial acumen in evaluating and structuring future agreements, building upon trusted partnerships and developing strategic, long-term relationships to support business expansion.

Key Responsibilities

Sales Strategy & Planning:

Develop and implement strategic sales plans aligned with company goals and growth targets.Lead business developmentExpand the company’s footprint across the UK, Ireland, and wider EMEA region in line with agreed business goalsMaintain deep market awareness of competitors, key clients, and industry peers to inform sales strategies and product positioningCollaborate cross-functionally with product development, pricing and e-commerce to ensure full alignment between commercial & strategic goals and technical delivery, as well as seamless trade partner and guest experiencesLead the delivery and implementation of future ticketing and hotel connectivity technologies, aligning with the company’s roadmapEnsure consistent use and adoption of sales effectiveness tools (e.g., Salesforce) to drive data accuracy, forecasting, and performance tracking.Evaluate current sales processes and ways of working to identify areas for improvement and propose innovative, value-adding solutions.

Partner Management:

Establish and cultivate exceptional relationships with strategic partners and industry leadersFiscal responsibility for sales budget, spending and reportingReport on sales performance, insights and forecast future sales trendsServe as the senior commercial point of contact for Partners, building trust-based relationships and influencing long-term strategy by understanding their goals and KPIsCoordinate with regional and global counterparts to scale success, share best practices, and support business strategy

Team Leadership

Overseeing the day-to-day sales operations, including sales forecasting, budgeting, reporting and resource allocationLead, coach, and empower a high-performing sales team to exceed targets and embrace a performance-driven culture.Set clear goals, provide regular performance feedback, and foster professional development and mentoring opportunities.Report regularly on sales results, market insights, and future sales forecasts to internal stakeholders.

QualificationsSignificant experience in sales within the travel sector, ideally in mid or senior management within a tour operator, travel agency, ticket broker or attractionDeep understanding of leisure travel within UK & I and the wider EMEA marketProven track record of success in achieving sales targets and driving revenue growth. Demonstrated success in developing and executing sales strategies.Ability to deliver persuasive, data-driven presentations to internal stakeholders, partners, and clients at all levelsFamiliar with API attribute-based pricing e-ticketing solutions and hotel connectivity platformsSalesForce experience is desirableKnowledge of inbound and outbound travel industry would be advantageous and knowledge of the Theme Park & Visitor Attractions industry is desirableAn active and knowledgeable networker with high business acumen and strategic agilityPrior experience in a leadership capacity, managing, inspiring and mentoring sales teams is desirableAbility to motivate, coach, and lead a sales team to achieve targets. Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate and communicate effectively and consistently with colleagues and cross divisional stakeholdersAbility to identify and solve problems effectively and make sound decisions. Excellent relationship management and influencing skillsExcellent presentation skillsAble to diplomatically work with and influence third parties, both internal and externalStrong sales and negotiation skillsAble to work in a matrix organizationHybrid role: 3 days a week based out of our London office
