Allied Universal® is hiring a Director of Safety & Security. As a Director of Safety & Security, you are the driving force behind daily security operations, ensuring the safety and well-being of the people and places you protect. You will lead from the front—guiding, developing, and motivating your team of security officers and supervisors to deliver exceptional service. RESPONSIBILITIES:

Manage scheduling: Leverage AI-powered technology to effectively schedule security officers, meeting client contract hours while minimizing unbilled overtimeAlign staffing plans with multi-year roadmaps that enhance security posture and budget alignmentLead and Develop Security Teams: Hire, coach and manage security officers and supervisors while overseeing payroll, performance, and employee relationsLead training on handling sensitive situations (e.g., intoxicated guests, theft, disturbances) through a hospitality lensMentor and discipline staff to maintain a mission-ready, guest-focused workforceDesign and deliver ongoing training, tabletop exercises, and assessments tied to post orders and emergency readinessEnhance Client Relationships: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring high-quality service that protects people and propertyAct as a strategic advisor to executive stakeholders, presenting security insights in business languageFoster a culture of vigilance, integrity, and hospitality aligned with client service expectationHandle Security Incidents and Emergencies: Respond to escalated issues professionally, coordinating with clients and internal teamsServe as Incident Commander during critical events, managing resources and communications while minimizing guest disruptionConduct after-action reviews to drive continuous improvementDirect Compliance and Security Operational Excellence: Oversee training, safety, and site operational standards as well as managing inventory (uniforms, equipment, and other essential supplies)Ensure all security protocols support a welcoming, guest-friendly environmentBuild and maintain partnerships with public-sector agencies for joint training and emergency response coordination

 

QUALIFICATIONS (MUST HAVE):

High school diploma or equivalentFormer command-level law enforcement or military leader with experience managing personnel and critical incidentsLicensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employmentValid driver’s license if driving a company vehicle or personal vehicle while conducting businessMinimum of two (2) years of experience in business operations, security management, or supervising teams in a fast-paced environmentExperience in leading, developing, and retaining a dynamic team while building positive client relationshipsKnowledge of emergency preparedness, physical security protocols, risk assessments, and law enforcement coordinationProven ability to evaluate situations, make sound independent decisions, and resolve conflicts in an efficient mannerProficiency in web-based applications and computer systems, including Microsoft OfficeAbility to communicate effectively with clients and employees while managing multiple projects and driving operational excellenceFinancial acumen; able to manage staffing levels while minimizing non-billed overtime and managing turnover costs; planning and organizing skills to control costs related to inventory (uniforms, equipment, etc.)

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (NICE TO HAVE):

College degree in Business Administration or a law enforcement-related fieldAmerican Society of Industrial Security (ASIS), International Certified Protection Professional (CPP) certificationPrevious payroll, billing, or scheduling experienceAptitude with security systems: CCTV, access control, and badge administrationGraduate of certified public safety academy (e.g., Law Enforcement, firefighter/paramedic, or Corrections Officer)

Pay Range $140,000-$200,000yr DOE
