About the role
The Director of Rooms is responsible for the smooth and efficient running of all operational aspects of Front Office and Housekeeping departments to ensure the highest standards are maintained for the hotel. This role reports directly to the General Manager and requires a dynamic, energetic leader, with experience in driving and inspiring team performance, development and has the ability to ensure the departments goals are met and aligned with Hyatt’s strategic priorities, whilst meeting colleague, client, and owner expectations at all times.
Responsibilities include:
Ensure that the department’s activities are aligned with Hyatt Rooms Strategy, and that hotel actions have been implemented where appropriate.
Toactively participate in business optimisation / revenue management meetings, overseeing the appropriate pricing structures to maximise yield and overall profits.
To conduct regular divisional communications meetings and ensure that departmental briefings and meetings are effective and conducted as necessary.
Handle with care and attention, all guest and internal customer matters and enquiries in a courteous and efficient manner, following through to make sure problems are resolved satisfactorily.
Lead and monitor Medallia (HySat) providing appropriate and timely responses and achieving/exceeding guest satisfaction scores
To maximise employee productivity through the use of multi-skilling, multi-tasking and flexible scheduling to meet the financial goals of the business as well as the expectations of the guests.
To oversee Rooms experience from check-in to check-out for all guests, working with Managers to ensure a seamless guest experience and make adjustments where necessary.
Ideal Candidate:
Must have recent 5- star hotel experience as a Director of Rooms
Experience with Opera, Microster, would be most advantageous
Ideally holds a university degree or diploma in Hospitality or Tourism management.
A can-do attitude and strong leadership skills with positive references that align in recent matching roles
Highly motivated, solutions-oriented self-starter with adaptable teamwork style
Takes ownership for all elements of rooms division including while not limited to OSE, ordering, guest needs, team recruitment and development and overall strategies linked to incremental revenues such as upselling and World of Hyatt loyalty program.
