About the Job

The Director of Quality Assurance (QA) is a senior-level role responsible for leading and managing Brightly’s quality assurance program. This role ensures products, services, and processes meet defined quality requirements and policies by conducting audits, analyzing production processes, and driving continuous automation improvement. The Director oversees global QA staff, manages budgets, and ensures compliance with regulatory requirements. They provide technical leadership, vision, management, and mentoring for multiple QA teams, including external vendors. This position offers an opportunity to bring experience, business acumen, and quality philosophies to the forefront of QA project management. This role will report directly to the CTO.

What you will do Drive the transformation of QA processes, platform, ways of working, and technology operations to leverage the evolving technical landscape. Manage multiple QA teams across various time zones, driving the product and engineering roadmap from a quality perspective, ensuring reliability and performance across all platforms. Must also be an experienced Scrum Master who can define quality requirements and keep the QA team on track. Analyze and address quality gaps, resource needs, and market demand to plan and assess the feasibility of QA projects. Provide suitable decision-making for product quality and assurance, maintaining sensitivity to constraints and business needs. Direct, review, and approve QA strategies (including accessibility) and changes; while leading and driving quality excellence culture across the functions and help teams embrace the same. Provide leadership and managerial direction for QA activities to ensure business objectives are achieved. Stimulate hiring, retain and develop top QA talent across the organization by providing guidance, career development, and mentorship to team members. Review and evaluate the work of others, inside and outside the organization, to ensure effectiveness, technical adequacy, and compatibility in the resolution of complex QA problems. Drive a high level of employee engagement by effectively communicating the company’s strategy, product vision, and organizational performance. Coordinate and direct QA project execution, making detailed plans to accomplish goals and directing the integration of QA activities. Select, lead, direct, evaluate, and develop a team of QA professionals to ensure that QA operations are completed on time, within budget, and as per the set goals. Create career development programs for the team and develop short-term plans to ensure skills and performance of employees meet current and future needs. Develop and maintain the QA roadmap. Maintain and communicate all related metrics and scorecard data. What you need Bachelor's degree in computer science or other relevant engineering field. 14+ years of experience in the software industry building and managing QA teams that design and deliver large distributed systems – preferably in agile development, object-oriented systems realm with high availability. Solid system design and architecture experience. 6+ years leading & managing QA teams. Experience leading large teams (80+ people). Technology Enthusiast and Passionate to lead from the front for critical product deliveries through breakthrough QA technologies. Experience in leading, architecting, designing & building secure, scalable and reliable QA platforms. Prior hands-on experience with IT hardware, networks, software back-end, database, APIs, and modern web front-end frameworks in order to lead individuals and teams. Be comfortable and experienced managing within Agile/Scrum environment.

Ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Excellent communication skills – you should be adept at listening to, understanding, and explaining key concepts to managerial and technical resources. The pay range for this position is 157000 - 269000 annually with a target incentive of 20 of the base salary. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
