Director of Product Development

Purpose Statement: Lead Penang Design Center's Product Development staff which includes Engineering, Engineering Management and Project Management

Key Job Accountabilities:

Defines and drives the engineering vision for the design center including defining and balancing the need for technology advancement,Provides business development support including Plexus capability presentations, business and technical discussions, the customerEnsures that Site/operation's perspective is effectively driven into customer account and opportunity strategy planning; assigns PMDevelops an effective design center PM team strategic plan that consists of organizational, staffing and capabilities development that is
aligned with the strategic goals of Plexus and PLXS-ENG; appropriately implements this plan by effective hiring, training and
development of the PM organization.Effectively develops and leverages senior level relationships with external and internal (sector/region/manufacturing) customers in orderResponsible to exemplify and hold their team accountable to demonstrating the Plexus Core Values. Leader will focus on evaluating potential, driving succession planning, and ensuring their employees receive the development and coaching required to realize their full potential.

Education/Experience Qualifications:

A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field is required; a Master’s degree in Engineering or BusinessAdministration is preferred.Nine (9) years of related experience is required; One (1) or more years of equivalent industry experience is preferred.

Intermediate Computer SkillsAdvanced Decision making, Problem Solving SkillsAdvanced Verbal and Written Communication SkillsPossess a detailed understanding of PLXS-ENG development guidelines, budgeting, P&L, and management decision-making processesPossess strong knowledge in all appropriate technical disciplines as well as a good knowledge of test development and manufacturingAbility to work in a group environmentPossess strong team building skillsPossess good management skills and knowledge of management principlesPossess good organizational, presentation and leadership skillsAbility to handle demanding schedulesPossess conflict resolution and negotiation skillsGeneral office equipment and materials
