Learn more at Johnson & Johnson MedTech (https://www.jnj.com/medtech) . **Position Overview:** Reporting to the Sr. Director of TECA Operations, the Operations Director will lead a team accountable for a robust supply of finished goods, supporting over $3.6B in annual revenue. You will develop a team of 2 External Operations Managers to establish and drive strategies to deliver benchmark value through improved quality, customer service, and responsiveness while reducing supply chain total costs and increasing profitability. Additionally, you will deploy dedicated continuous improvement specialists to help external partners foster process improvements and a lean culture. **Responsibilities:** **Strategic Partnership Relationship Management:** + Lead and manage all aspects of external operations, including commercial activities (RFPs, negotiations, supply agreements), capability assessments, sourcing strategy, inventory control, product quality, cost control, and continuous improvement initiatives. + Partner with the wider team to manage the external manufacturing landscape to capitalize on efficiency, cost improvement, and product development opportunities. + Develop, foster, and manage relationships with external partners at the executive level. + Formulate long-term strategies to ensure year-over-year efficiency and capability improvements, facilitating the success of the strategic plan. + Conduct regular business reviews and assess overall operational execution against goals, including quality, EHS, supply/service, financials, and major programs. Drive performance over the strategic horizon, including capacity analyses, business continuity, and mitigation plans as required. **Planning and Scheduling:** + Drive excellence in external partner supply planning, including master scheduling, capacity planning, and distribution coordination. + Implement best practices with the Planning organization in managing capacity, defining requirements, and overseeing external partner performance. + Develop supply agreements that meet On-Time In-Full (OTIF) and perfect order requirements while minimizing inventory investment. + Represent operations in the Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process for external partners. **Sustaining Engineering, Partner Development, and Supplier Quality:** + Coordinate technical and quality groups to deploy engineering support with partners, focusing on understanding design issues, improving quality, reliability, and overall performance. + Ensure seamless, timely transitions of design or process changes while meeting all quality and regulatory requirements. + Quickly resolve technical sourcing problems to mitigate risk and impact on business goals. + Proactively identify component or raw material obsolescence issues and establish appropriate mitigation plans. + Lead lean and six sigma specialists to drive groundbreaking change and cultural transformation. **Education:** + Undergraduate degree in science, engineering, business, or supply chain-related fields required. + Post-graduate degree preferred. **Experience and Competencies:** + 10 - 15 years of relevant experience; 7 years in a people leadership role. + Medical Device or Pharmaceutical experience required. + Experience in supplier relationship management, contracts, and supplier agreements. + Strong background in complex program management. + Ability to operate effectively in a global and somewhat ambiguous environment. + Clear and concise communication skills across all company levels and the global supply chain. + Ability to lead and influence others in a complex organization. + Proven track record of developing talent. + Understanding of process excellence tools (lean, six sigma) and manufacturing systems and processes. Subject to the terms of their respective plans, employees are eligible to participate in the Company’s consolidated retirement plan (pension) and savings plan (401(k)).
