The Framingham Heart Study is seeking an operations Director to integrate the activities of over 70 employees including the managers of this large, multi-phased, multi-faceted study, to achieve the goals of the six-year contract and numerous grants. The Director of Operations oversees the daily operations of the longest running longitudinal research study of it's kind. From recruitment to the research center, to health information management, endpoint review and data management, this position is responsible for developing and monitoring metrics of quality and efficiency. The position ensures that studies operate within protocol, in compliance with institutional policies, within budget constraints and with a keen focus on continuous improvement and optimal use of resources. In support of the Framingham Study Executive Committee, the position represents the Principal Investigator, based at BUMC, and makes decisions on their behalf on a daily basis, with consultation as needed. In rare occasions when no medical staff is on the premises, would co-ordinate emergency efforts. Responsible for design and review of emergency procedures. Oversees the use of 20,000 square feet of office space leased to BU by the Perini Corporation and is the onsite representative of BU to the Perini Corporation.
