Arc of Onondaga is seeking a Registered Nurse to oversee the care of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities as the Director of Nursing. \n
The Director of Nursing oversees nursing and health-related services for Arc of Onondaga including but not limited to developing and implementing nursing policies and procedures, ensuring the quality of services administered by agency RNs and LPNs, and providing healthcare related support as needed to all departments at Arc of Onondaga.\n
Job Requirements:\n\nDevelops, maintains, and monitors systems used for documenting the quality of nursing services. \nMonitors internal systems, recommends follow up as needed, and partners with outside providers to ensure that all program service needs are met. \nSupervises agency RNs and LPNs while ensuring a cohesive nursing team that is utilized across the agency as needed.\nOversees and assists in the development and revision of nursing and health-related policies and regulations.\nProvides oversight, teaching assignment, and supervision to all training courses provided by nursing staff. \nOversees AMAP certification process including training, medication pours, recertifications, evaluations and medication errors. \nMay function as the primary RN for a small caseload and assumes responsibility of caseloads from departing nurses, or assigns as appropriate to existing nurses. \nOversees the tuberculosis screening program by scheduling PPD clinics and conducting associated follow up. \nMust maintain job-required certifications and licenses. \n\n
Preferred Education and Experience\n\nLicensed and currently registered as a Registered Professional Nurse by the New York State Department of Education. \nMinimum 5 years' experience as a Registered Nurse (RN).\nMinimum of 2 years' supervisory experience preferred. \nExperience in the field of OPWDD and Managed Care environment preferred.\nA valid NYS driver's license and a driving record acceptable to the agency's insurance carrier. \n\n
