**Immediate Need for Director Of Nursing* Job Description We are seeking a highly qualified Director of Nursing to oversee operational functions for assigned areas in a fast-paced Labor & Delivery unit. This role involves directing data collection priorities aligned with organizational goals, managing personnel activities related to skills competency, and ensuring efficient resource utilization. The Director of Nursing will function as an expert in patient care management, facilitating optimal care delivery systems and communication across departments. Responsibilities + Direct overall operational functions for assigned areas. + Set priorities for data collection for performance improvement programs related to organizational goals. + Project annual volumes, needs, and clinical services, justify variances, and initiate corrective actions. + Direct ongoing personnel activities related to skills competency and adherence to staffing policies. + Function as an expert in patient care management in the clinical area. + Facilitate and participate in teams to plan, implement, and evaluate patient care delivery systems. + Ensure effective communication and information sharing at inter/intra departmental levels. + Develop annual staff development goals and perform routine staff appraisal for professional growth. Essential Skills + Management experience in a clinical setting. + Active RN License in MD. + Experience with NRP certification. + Five years of relevant clinical experience. + Three years of management experience. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Master's degree in Nursing or related field. + Bachelor of Science in Nursing as minimum preparation. Work Environment The role is based in a Labor and Delivery unit with approximately 4,500 deliveries annually. You will oversee a dedicated team of 200 talented professionals in a culture dedicated to excellence in patient care, team collaboration, and continuous learning.
