UPMC The Green Home is seeking a Director of Nursing to lead and oversee key clinical programs including Nursing Services, Quality Assurance Performance Improvement (QAPI), Infection Control, and Restorative Nursing. This full-time leadership role operates on standard hours of 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM, with 24/7 responsibility and oversight of the facility.

Responsibilities
+ Professional Representation
+ Represents the facility and organization in a professional manner.
+ Demonstrates UPMC values and communicates clearly and concisely.
+ Leadership
+ Acts on behalf of the Administrator in his/her absence.
+ Accepts responsibility and accountability for the provision of resident care.
+ Serves as a leader and role model, promoting resident-centered, quality care.
+ Care Delivery & Compliance
+ Plans, develops, organizes, coordinates, and oversees the delivery of quality resident care.
+ Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local standards, nursing practice guidelines, and regulations.
+ Demonstrates thorough working knowledge of current regulations and internal policies.
+ Promotes compliance with all policies and regulations.
+ Staffing & Personnel
+ Evaluates staffing levels to ensure appropriate resources are utilized.
+ Addresses personnel and organizational issues promptly.
+ Reports relevant concerns timely to the administrator and others as required.
+ Promotes recruitment and retention of staff.
+ Actively engages staff, promotes teamwork, and performs necessary personnel functions accurately and timely.
+ Maintains confidentiality regarding resident and employee information and records.
+ Education & Development
+ Participates in continuing education to maintain competence and awareness of regulatory changes.
+ Participates and/or leads initiatives and committees within the facility and system-wide as directed.
+ Quality Assurance & Improvement
+ Serves as chairperson for the facility's Quality Assurance Improvement Program.
+ Monitors outcomes to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
+ Facilitates appropriate changes in practices to address deficiencies.
+ Completes reports as required by policies and regulations.
+ Assists in developing and implementing plans of action to correct identified deficiencies.
+ Provides required information to the State Department of Health and other regulatory bodies.
+ Inspection & Emergency Preparedness
+ Participates in conducting periodic mock inspections and sharing practices.
+ Demonstrates knowledge of emergency practices, plans, and procedures.
+ Experience:
+ Minimum of 5 years of nursing experience required, with at least 2 years in a long-term care (LTC) setting.
+ Minimum of 2 years of progressive leadership experience required (e.g., Nursing Supervisor, Nursing Unit Manager).
+ Education:
+ Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.
+ If not held at the time of hire/transfer, candidate must be enrolled in a BSN program within one year of hire/transfer date and complete the program within three years of enrollment.
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances
+ Required Certifications:
+ Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification based on AHA standards, including both didactic and skills demonstration components, to be completed within 30 days of hire.
+ Required Licensure:
+ Registered Nurse (RN) license.
+ Must hold current licensure in the state where the facility is located, or a multistate license issued by a participating Nursing Licensure Compact (NLC) state.
+ If relocating to the facility's state, employees must apply for state licensure within 60 days of residency change.
+ Required Clearances:
+ Act 34 Clearance
+ OAPSA Clearance
