Position Specific Description
The Director of NERC Compliance is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing and ensuring compliance with the North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) standards and requirements within the NextEra Energy Power Generation organization. This position plays a critical role in maintaining the reliability and security of the bulk electric system (BES) by implementing, monitoring, and improving compliance programs and practices.

Compliance Program Management:
Design, implement, and maintain an effective NERC compliance program that includes policies, procedures, training, and internal controls Ensure timely and accurate reporting of compliance status, issues, and metrics to senior management and regulatory bodiesRegulatory Interface:
Coordinate and lead internal and external audits, investigations, and responses to compliance-related inquiries and findings. Represent the organization in industry forums, committees, and working groups related to NERC compliance.Training and Awareness:
Develop and deliver training programs to educate employees, contractors, and stakeholders on NERC compliance requirements and best practices Promote a culture of integrity and compliance across a matrix organization through excellent communication and program controlsEvent Response and Mitigation:
Lead the development and implementation of event response and mitigation plans Conduct root cause analysis and develop corrective actions to prevent recurrence of compliance issuesReporting and Documentation:
Maintain comprehensive documentation of the NERC compliance program, including policies, procedures, and compliance evidence Ensure accurate and timely submission of compliance reports to regulatory agencies and internal stakeholders
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field Minimum of 7 years of experience in the energy industry, with at least 7 years in a leader
