About the Role: To provide technical expertise and direction for technical support throughout the entire Maintenance organization to improve technician knowledge, skills, and personal growth while ensuring compliance to vendor, OEM,OSHA/EPA and company directives and processes.

Annual Salary Range: $136,000-$170,000

Essential Job Functions:

 

Support Transit and Fleet Services locations with technical and OEM support. Assist in creating and rolling out corporate SOP and policies. Ensure all maintenance team members are properly trained on vehicles and components within our fleet to include all necessary OE provided troubleshooting software.Develop and implementation of corporate wide vehicle maintenance training program curriculum.Responsible for coordinating and tracking in-house and vendor-led training functions.Zero Emission Vehicle maintenance policy and proceduresExperience with Field Service/Technical SupportExperience with High Voltage Vehicle Safety StandardsRemote Diagnostics and TroubleshootingExperience working with OEMsDevelop and implement technician development plans for Transdev locations at Tech level that ensures continuous improvement and progression to the next available skill level based on ASE certification programs.Coordinate with all Transdev Maintenance managers to understand developmental and training needs of all maintenance team members.Monitors internal repair and vendor release repair bulletins and recalls updating training programs.Works with Transdev locations to develop Apprenticeship programs.Directs and supports regional training centers.

Purpose and Nature of Work Relationships:

 

Has moderate contact with others inside the organization; works mainly with Maintenance staff and occasionally with Training, Safety, Dispatch and Purchasing.

 

Has moderate contact with others outside the organization; works with OEMs and vendors occasionally.

 

Essential Knowledge and Skills:

Required:

Bachelors Degree

Five years related experience

 

Preferred Skills

Technical skills related to Transit, Motor Coach and Paratransit type buses. Presentation skills that can engage the team in learning.Five (5) years recent progressive heavy equipment maintenance experience required.Four (4) year technical degree or equivalent experience preferred.Additional training from mechanical/technical schools, courses or seminars is desirableZero Emission Vehicle/EVSE Deployment experience                                        .Advanced Onboard Diagnostics and Datalogging (including Zero Emissions Vehicles) Telemetry and Predictive Analytics ASE Advanced Level Certifications (L1, L2, L3)  Experience with ASE Test Writing WorkshopsTraining with Zero Emissions OEMs (Powerplant, Batteries etc.) Must have a complete understanding of the design, vehicle electronics, overhaul knowledge for transmissions and heavy-duty engines, as well as other bus components.Must be able to work with diagnostic equipment including OEM type computerized programs such as INSITE, WTEC, Wabco. Must have an in-depth understanding of regulations affecting mechanics and maintenance operations.Must be autonomous and be self directed. Must be able to research and identify resources for complex issues. Must have basic math abilities to analyze and track maintenance information.Must have knowledge of the warranty process.Must be able to pass a pre-employment physical examination including a drug test.

Various hand tools, various specialized hand tools, various power tools, various pneumatic tools, diagnostic tools such as schematics, Prolink and computer, heavy machinery, and machinist (precision) tools and vehicle lift systems.
