Position: Director of Maintenance Reliability 

Reports to: Director, Manufacturing

Location: Chicago, IL; Tacoma, WA; Plant City, FL; Cleburne, TX or Pulaski, VA.

Travel: Up to 50% to our manufacturing locations

 

Position Overview:

As the Director of Maintenance Reliability you will lead our company-wide reliability initiatives and elevate our maintenance performance across the network. This role reports directly to the Director, Manufacturing and plays a critical role in aligning maintenance strategies with operational excellence, safety, and long-term asset performance.

 

What You’ll Do:

Lead Maintenance & Reliability Strategy (60%)

Apply RCM and TPM to optimize asset reliability and cost-efficiency. Develop predictive and proactive maintenance plans tailored to asset needs. Oversee annual and long-term outage planning (1–3–5–7 years). Improve MTBF using data insights and supplier collaboration. Standardize best practices for facility, infrastructure, and utility maintenance. Manage non-routine maintenance budgets and major repair planning. Ensure consistent execution across sites via dotted-line leadership. Support capital projects by: Approving equipment specs for consistency Embedding reliability tools into new assets Leading system development and training

Champion Reliability & Continuous Improvement (40%)

Drive a culture of continuous improvement and service-oriented maintenance. Enhance OEE through strategic initiatives and cross-functional collaboration. Mentor and develop diverse maintenance leaders and teams. Align maintenance with safety, quality, and operational standards (HMOS). Lead training and asset strategy development across the network. Build and guide multidisciplinary teams, including controls and process experts.

What You'll Bring:

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field 10+ years in maintenance reliability; 5+ years in people leadership Proven success with RCM, TPM, and high-performance manufacturing Strong change leadership and cross-functional influence Experience leading diverse teams and driving measurable results Skilled in project management, conflict resolution, and coaching Proficient in Microsoft Office and maintenance-related systems Clear, confident communicator across all organizational levels

 

What You’ll Receive: 

As of the date of this posting, a good faith estimate of the current pay scale for this position is $148,900.00 to $193,600.00. Placement in the range depends on several factors such as experience, skills, geography and internal equity and may change over time. This position qualifies for benefits and you will be eligible to participate in a bonus plan.
