**About Devereux Florida**
Devereux Florida provides a broad continuum of care for children and adolescents with mental health, behavioral, and developmental challenges. Services include inpatient psychiatric treatment, specialized group homes, foster care and therapeutic foster care, outpatient counseling, case management, prevention programs, and statewide mobile response teams. Our programs are grounded in evidence-based practice, trauma-informed care, and individualized supports.
**Position Overview**
The **Director of Risk and Quality – Florida** reports to the **Vice President of Safety and Risk** and serves as the lead for all risk management and quality improvement functions across Devereux Florida. Key responsibilities include:
+ Leading Florida’s efforts in risk mitigation, incident response, infection control, and environmental safety.
+ Tracking and analyzing key risk and quality data; identifying trends and coordinating corrective action planning.
+ Providing guidance on legal and insurance-related risk issues and supporting regulatory survey readiness.
+ Collaborating with program and operational leaders to ensure compliance with Joint Commission, Medicaid, and state licensing requirements.
+ Serving as a member of the **Florida Senior Management Team** and a key liaison to the national office.
**Qualifications**
+ **Master’s degree** from an accredited institution (required)
+ **Minimum one year of supervisory experience** in a behavioral health or health care setting(required)
+ Strong knowledge of **risk management principles** , **incident tracking** , and **regulatory frameworks**
+ Demonstrated understanding of **federal and state regulations** , insurance programs, and liability controls
+ Experience conducting staff training and coaching teams through improvement initiatives
+ Familiarity with **Medicaid** , state licensing, and **Joint Commission standards** (preferred)
+ Experience in **behavioral healthcare settings** (preferred)
