Director Of Leasing Strategy
Job Title: Director of Leasing & Revenue Strategy The Company A privately held real estate development firm is managing a transformative 600-acre site at the intersection of San Francisco and San Mateo counties. With entitlements underway and a significant volume of leasable land available, the company is focused on unlocking near-term revenue while preparing for long-term development. The site presents a rare opportunity to shape a landmark community through strategic leasing, infrastructure planning, and land activation. The Opportunity The company is seeking a strategic and execution-focusedDirector of Leasing Strategyto lead efforts in monetizing and activating underutilized land. This executive will drive leasing strategy, oversee land activation, and align interim use with long-term development goals. Reporting directly to the CEO, this role is pivotal in shaping the site's revenue trajectory and coordinating with civil and entitlement teams to ensure seamless execution. Key Responsibilities Leasing Strategy & Market Activation + Lead business planning and revenue-generating activities across a 350-acre leasable portfolio (currently ~50 acres leased). + Develop and execute leasing strategies that balance near-term income with long-term flexibility. + Analyze market trends to identify target tenants and broker relationships. + Structure lease agreements that align with entitlement constraints and infrastructure planning. + Evaluate land segments for optimal use and activation potential. Entitlement & Infrastructure Coordination + Collaborate with entitlement consultants, land use attorneys, and public agencies. + Provide input on infrastructure planning, including grading, access, utilities, and drainage. + Understand and manage the complexities of environmental remediation and large-scale dirt movement to reduce development costs. Team Leadership + Oversee a lean internal team, including a civil project engineer, and manage third-party vendors and consultants. + Define KPIs and accountability frameworks to ensure alignment with strategic goals. + Foster a performance-driven culture focused on transparency and long-term value. Stakeholder Engagement + Serve as the primary liaison with executive leadership, brokers, and public stakeholders. + Represent the company in industry events and public forums. Qualifications + 10+ years of experience in commercial real estate leasing, with a focus on land strategy or interim use. + Proven success negotiating complex lease agreements. + Familiarity with entitlement processes, zoning, and civil engineering principles. + Strong understanding of Bay Area industrial and logistics markets. + Strategic thinker with the ability to execute in a lean, fast-paced environment. + Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
