Reports To: Executive Vice-President/Chief Financial Officer

Summary

As a member of the Salt River Community Gaming Enterprises, the Director of Information Technology is responsible for overseeing all aspects of technology within a gaming enterprises, ensuring IT systems and infrastructure support gaming operations and align with business goals. This role involves strategic planning, execution, and oversight of technology, as well as managing IT staff, developing cybersecurity strategies, and deploying hardware and software. In addition, the Director will provide leadership of vision, direction, and implementation of Information Technology systems for the enterprises.  This includes maintaining business alignment through communication with the executive team, business units, departments, and IT staff.  The Director is accountable for technology strategic planning and ensuring alignment with the executive management goals; in support of business objectives and provides direction to the IT team for tactical planning and execution of the infrastructure, systems, and projects.

Develops, leads, administers, and coordinates all phases of an enterprises’ computer/information technology department, including systems design, programming, installation, and operation. Identifies and communicates the strategic objectives and determines specific information requirements for management.

Supervisory Responsibilities

The Director manages several sub areas within the Information Technology department including programing, network, security, support and applications. The Director is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units and carries out management/supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the enterprises’ policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Provides vision and leadership through a business aligned IT strategic plan. Aligns IT goals and objectives with organizational goals; enhance business value through aligned and prioritized IT projects and initiatives.  Maintains IT transparency through a governance framework. Manages IT risk. Develops and implements cybersecurity strategies to protect sensitive data and systems. Interacts with executives, managers, and departments to facilitate IT goals. Maintains operational efficiency through reported metrics. Reviews and monitors IT activity such as development projects, resource utilization, data security, data integrity, infrastructure, and application performance. Ensures quality assurance methodologies maintain maximum value for major enterprises investments. Reviews and approves changes in policies, procedures and significant application and infrastructure changes.   Recommends the purchase, rent, lease, license, or other acquisitions from outside sources of computer systems, communication systems, office systems, hardware, software, or service in meeting the needs of the company in accordance with established policies. Prepares an annual IT budget and establishes controls to stay within the specific limits of the budget. Implements and enforces the enterprises’ internal control standards and ensures all departmental policies and procedures are consistent with the most current internal control standards. Is dedicated to the recruitment and training of SRPMIC Community Members consistent with the casino’s Community and Indian Preference guidelines. Enforces and ensures compliance with departmental and enterprises Compact, Community Regulatory Agency and laws of the Community and federal government regulations and policies and procedures, including PCI DSS and audit requirements from all related to IT. Identifies and communicates the strategic objectives and determines specific information requirements for management. Responsible for overseeing all aspects of contract management related to IT operations; negotiating, reviewing and managing contracts with vendors/service providers to ensure the enterprises technology needs are met efficiently and effectively. Keeps current on new developments in information systems technology, and plans for future upgrades and organizational changes. Responsible for maintaining up-to-date knowledge of all applicable regulations under the Code of Federal Regulations, Title 31, Chapter X, by attending Title 31/Anti-Money Laundering training, provided by Casino Arizona, at least once a year or more if required by management and outlined in the Title 31 Minimum Internal Controls.

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor’s degree required; MS/MBA Degree in Business Administration, Information Technology or computer science required. 10+ years management experience.  5 or more years managing an IT department of 20 or more team members. Proven experience in complex project management and/or system conversions in new property or enterprise application implementations.  Verified progressive experience in the management of technology departments. Gaming experience preferred.

Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have excellent PC skills with a broad and thorough knowledge of database, design, development, Internet, project management, spreadsheet and word processing software.

Other Qualifications

Experienced in managing several key projects simultaneously to successful completions. Broad understanding and experience with general business management practices. Intrinsic ability to interact and adapt to varying personalities of the executives, department managers and IT staff. Strong leadership and team management skills. Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities. In-depth knowledge of IT infrastructure and systems. Familiarity with cybersecurity best practices

Language Skills

Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and secondary smoke. The employee is frequently exposed to high, precarious places and risk of electrical shock.  The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
