Position Overview:
We seek a strategic, experienced leader to serve as Director of Identity & Access Management (IAM) Engineering. The ideal candidate will drive the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of our enterprise-wide IAM strategy, architecture, and platform engineering. You will ensure the effectiveness, efficiency, and security of identity services supporting both enterprise and retail environments. You will also lead IAM engineering teams, foster cross-functional collaboration, and align IAM engineering initiatives with overarching business and security objectives.
Key Responsibilities:IAM Strategy and Roadmap Execution:Lead the adoption and optimization of ServiceNow for IAM processes.Develop and implement a robust Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) framework and manage the successful deployment of RBAC 1.0.Implement and operationalize enterprise groups, persona-based enablement, and simplified authentication frameworks.Oversee authentication initiatives supporting retail and front-line employees, ensuring compliance with relevant tenant and security requirements.Lead initiatives focused on identity threat protection, platform edge architecture redesign, and enhancements for identity and access management services.Drive the stabilization and continuous enhancement of Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) across both production and non-production platform services. Identity Architecture & Engineering:Establish and enforce identity architecture patterns and standards.Lead cloud-based identity platform migrations and drive the retirement of legacy authentication solutions.Ensure alignment of identity architecture reviews with enterprise architecture across network, infrastructure, and product teams.Develop, enhance, and operationalize identity-focused CI/CD processes to maintain agility and security in IAM services. Drive continuous improvement of user experience in IAM platforms through proactive engagement, usability testing, and iterative UI enhancements.Ensure alignment between UX/UI designs and established identity governance standards, emphasizing intuitive interactions and user-centric security features.Oversee the evaluation and refinement of identity-related interfaces, balancing compliance requirements with simplified, frictionless user experiences.Monitoring, Analytics & Reporting:Develop and mature identity analytics, monitoring, and reporting capabilities.Implement Splunk frameworks specifically designed for identity event monitoring, alerting, and proactive threat mitigation.Stakeholder & Team Leadership:Collaborate closely with enterprise architecture, infrastructure, product teams, security operations, compliance, and internal stakeholders to ensure IAM alignment across the organization.Mentor and manage IAM engineering teams, setting clear expectations and fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.About Walgreens
