Glenburnie Rehabilitation & Nursing Center is looking for a Licensed Nursing Home Administrator for our 125-bed center in Richmond, VA. We are a growing and progressive organization with a focus on providing quality care and advanced rehabilitation.
The Director of Human Resources is responsible for the day-to-day operations of Human Resources for the center. This position will manage, plan, direct, and coordinate full life-cycle employee administration and support including, but not limited to, recruitment, retention, employee relations, compensation, payroll, timekeeping, benefits, safety, compliance, and any additional employee-related situations. This position will coordinate with department managers and the center’s Administrator to facilitate training and professional development for center staff. All duties and responsibilities will be performed consistent with the mission, vision, and objectives of the company and in accordance with local, state, and federal rules and regulations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Assumes full management and administrative responsibility for all human resources initiatives and activities impacting the full employee life cycle. Ensures that all policies, procedures, and reporting requirements are followed in accordance with company policy & procedures as well as all applicable local, state, and federal laws and regulations. Exemplify a positive representation of the company vision and culture; act in a manner that conveys high personal and professional standards. Participate in regular administrative staff meetings and attend other meetings as necessary. Remain flexible in scheduling and work requirements based on center needs; perform other duties as assigned or necessary.
TALENT ACQUISITION & RECRUITING Lead recruitment efforts of the center in coordination with department managers to ensure adequate staffing of center. Monitor and maintain current job listings; Ensure timely posting and removal of positions. Ensure timely onboarding of selected candidates; complete pre-employment verifications including reference checks, background checks, license verifications, etc. in accordance with company policy and in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. Input all new employees into the electronic employee system; ensure that all electronic files are complete and accurate. Schedule, coordinate, and lead new hire orientations regularly
EMPLOYEE RELATIONS Maintain positive, professional relationships with center employees that inspire trust and open communication. Plan, organize, and participate in employee morale events in coordination with the center leadership team. Coordinate center’s employee recognition programs.
PAYROLL & TIMEKEEPING Review and verify employee records and time data in accordance with company policy and procedure to ensure accurate processing of bi-weekly payroll. Ensure that employee pay rates, incentive pay, retention bonuses, paid time off, and other compensation are correctly entered into the system timely for accurate and prompt payment. Ensure that employees are inputted into the timekeeping system and clock promptly. Ensure accuracy of the data submitted as part of the payroll-based journal (PBJ) in coordination with the payroll department.
BENEFITS Serves as a point of contact at the center for employee benefit programs. Resolves or escalates employee questions or concerns regarding benefits as appropriate. Process and track Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA) and Leave of Absence (LOA) cases and maintain proper documentation per company policy and in accordance with local, state, and federal guidelines; complete and submit monthly leave report. Coordinate, communicate, and oversee center’s benefits open enrollment.
SAFETY & COMPLIANCE Maintains center compliance program per company policy. Maintains accurate OSHA reporting and ensures posting requirements are met. Attends quarterly QAPI Committee meetings. Attends monthly Safety Committee meetings and serves as Safety Committee chairperson. Receive and respond to Unemployment Fact Finding inquiries; represent center at employee related hearings and investigations. Investigate employee work-related incidents/accidents and prepare, transmit, and maintain required reports and records for workers’ compensation and risk management.
DISCIPLINARY ACTIONS & SEPARATIONS Terminate separated employees from the electronic employee system in a timely manner. Prepare employee separation notices and related documentation and conduct exit interviews. Monitor corrective actions to ensure company policy & procedures are followed. Assist department managers in monitoring employee attendance and punctuality
PREREQUISITES Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent experience preferred. Two (2) years of experience in Human Resources or related role Experience in skilled nursing or healthcare environment preferred.
