The Director of HR Partnerships is responsible for leading multiple strategic HR functions and driving the development and execution of people strategies aimed at maximizing and retaining talent to support the purpose and direction of the company. This role requires a strategic business and systems thinker with strong executive presence, who collaborates effectively with internal and external customers at all levels.

This dynamic leader will partner with Premera's leadership to mitigate and manage risk by implementing innovative and effective HR strategies that ensure legal compliance, promote employee effectiveness and solve complex organizational challenges through people-related solutions.

As a key member of the Employee Experience leadership team, this role will work closely with executive leaders, providing leadership in the development and implementation of systems, programs and processes that improve the overall operation and performance of the organization.

What you will do:

Lead and develop HR teams assigned to each business unit where they will create and implement plans to help the business achieve its goals by developing people strategies that enhance organizational focus, efficiency, speed, and business results.

Ensures the workforce can meet current and future business needs. Provides leadership throughout the organization to attract, develop and retain motivated people.

Leads and develops the strategic planning and implementation of HR Business Partners, Employee Relations, Organizational Development, and HR Compliance business strategies for the enterprise.

Provides HR resources to the business for organizational planning, employee relations, HR policy and compliance guidance, and performance management and coaching.

Leads the design, development and implementation of programs, policies and strategies tailored to meet OD needs and program goals.

Hires, manages and leads a staff of managers and individual contributors to deliver excellent service and value to the organization. Develops measurable departmental and individual goals that support company and department strategies and individual growth.  Coaches for improved performance and holds team members accountable for results and for demonstration of Premera's values and competencies.

Advises senior leadership on issues and performance indicators through regular status reports that utilize supporting analytics to address trends and identify potential business impacts.

Leads the HR Business Partners, Employee Relations, and HR Compliance teams in the analysis and interpretation of employee relations issues; builds ongoing capability in HR Business Partners to support employee relations activity. Oversees development and distribution of comprehensive reports, findings and recommendations on key employment areas such as Affirmative Action Plans, EEOC complaints and OFCCP audit or required by legislation.

Ensures compliance with federal and state regulations and legal requirements for human resources, including EEO and Affirmative Action programs and reporting. 

Manages within approved budgets. Identifies and implements long range strategies for managing and reducing costs where practical.

Leads the development of HR policies, guidance and communication that address the needs of changing company.

Leads Employee Relations issues across the company, interfacing with external counsel. Serve as a direct liaison and process owner to legal counsel for employment related areas.

As part of this role, the Director may be assigned internal controls derived from Premera’s internal controls framework and will be accountable for understanding the controls assigned to this role, their impacts on Premera, and to ensure that they are operating effectively.

Performs other duties as assigned

What you will bring:

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business or related field(s), or four (4) years work experience.

Ten (10) years experience in Human Resources, including five (5) years experience leading a strategic area of HR, and at least three (3) years of prior management experience.

Advanced degree and/or professional certification in Human Resources, Business, Employment Law, or Industrial Relations preferred.

Familiarity of Premera's products and services preferred.

In-depth knowledge of health insurance industry preferred.

Certification in organizational change management methodology/methodologies preferred.

The pay for this role will vary based on a range of factors including, but not limited to, a candidate’s geographic location, market conditions, and specific skills and experience.

The salary range for this role is posted below; we generally target up to and around the midpoint of the range.

Salary Range:

$153,700.00 - $307,400.00
