Director of Hospital Patient Access
General Summary: Henry Ford Health is recruiting the Director, Hospital Patient Access. This leader is responsible for the effective functioning of hospital patient access operations across multiple large facilities within Henry Ford Health System. Key responsibilities include leading highly visible patient facing registration teams, providing outstanding service to patients and family members, integrating the department's services with the hospital's primary operations, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, and continually assessing and improving department performance to meet the needs of internal customers and patients. The Director, Hospital Patient Access identifies and executes strategic initiatives to achieve revenue cycle goals of improved yield, reduced cost, and outstanding patient experience, with a particular emphasis on innovation in technology and automation. The successful candidate is highly skilled in leading large 24/7 patient-facing teams, executing large scale projects, critical thinking, building an outstanding team culture, and providing an unparalleled patient experience. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: · Bachelor’s degree, required. Masters degree in a business or a health administration related field, preferred. · Five years (5) management experience required with director level, preferred. · Knowledge of best practices related to revenue cycle operations. · Experience at a large, complex, integrated healthcare organization, preferred. Experience with registration, patient billing, patient accounting systems and other related applications, preferred. Experience with clinical operations, preferred. · Communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with staff. · Ability to manage, coordinate, and lead simultaneously. Ability to estimate time frames and meet projected deadlines. · Ability to work with a variety of individuals in executive, managerial and staff level positions. · Ability to work independently. · Ability to understand and lead change. · Goal oriented, exceptional interpersonal skills, change management and political skill.
