Director of Grateful Patient Programs and Annual Giving

Job Summary:
SUNY Upstate Research Foundation is in search of a high motivated leader to join their Team as The Director of Grateful Patient Programs and Annual Giving. In this role you would be responsible for planning, implementing, and directing the comprehensive annual giving and donor engagement program. This includes the development of timelines for solicitation, solicitation letters, stewardship and other strategies related to annual giving. Performs development officer functions of qualifying acquired donors through direct mail and grateful patients' referrals to build into the Foundation donor pipeline and successfully transition relationships to major gift officers.
Duties Include:
+ Plans, executes, and ensures achievement of established goals for all annual giving funds, Power of Us Employee Giving Program, Grateful Patient and Family Program, and Doctors Day.
+ Manages on-going physician and staff grateful patient training programs.
+ Maintains grateful patient and family story libraries utilized for quarterly donor solicitations, radiothons and employee giving campaign.
+ Analyzes results of annual giving by tracking progress from year to year, donor attrition rates, donor value rates and performance by solicitation. Generates quarterly reports and statistics for Development Officer Meetings.
+ Oversees annual Upstate Cancer Center Call-In-For-Cancer Radiothon.
+ Cultivates and stewards a leadership portfolio of 200 prospects.
+ Participates in Upstate Foundation development activities including but not limited to strategy development, goal setting, staff meetings and events.
+ Valid driver's license & insurance and/or reliable transportation required for out-of-office travel as required by the position.
Minimum Qualifications:
+ Bachelor's degree and 3 years of full-time experience in a fundraising, nonprofit administrative experience, and/or a related field to include Sales/Marketing, Health Care.
+ Working knowledge of annual giving, direct mail, and marketing principles.
+ Must have exemplary leadership qualities, interpersonal, written and verbal skills, highly organized.
+ Proficient working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; as well as email, social media, internet tools and donor/alumni software.
+ Must have a valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle to make off campus donor/prospect visits and attend events.
Preferred Qualifications:
Demonstrate knowledge of principles and practices of fundraising for health care setting and/or an academic medical university. Results orientated, self-driven.
Work Days:
Monday-Friday; 8:30 am-4:30 pm
Must be available to work events held beyond the daily scheduled hours.
