Meet the Team
Cisco is seeking a highly experienced and dynamic professional to join our team as the Director of Global Lab Network Engineering. This pivotal role involves overseeing research and development lab environments locally across APAC, as well as managing network administration functions globally across Cisco labs. The successful candidate will lead a diverse team, including both full-time employees and contracted, outsourced resources, in a follow-the-sun operating model across multiple countries and regions.
Your Impact
* Local Management: Oversee and optimize Cisco's research and development lab environments across APAC, ensuring seamless operations for hardware and software development and testing by internal Engineering clients.
* Global Network Administration: Lead the administration of network engineering functions across all Cisco labs globally, fostering collaboration and efficiency across multiple regions.
* Team Leadership: Manage and develop high-performing local lab teams in India and China, as well as global teams, composed of full-time employees and outsourced contractors, ensuring alignment with Cisco's strategic objectives.
* Managed Service Provider Relationships: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with Managed Service Providers on a global scale to ensure the effective delivery of services.
* Technology Utilization: Leverage Splunk and AI technologies to monitor and analyze the utilization of equipment in testing environments, driving data-driven decisions and optimizations.
* Integration of Software and Hardware Development: Utilize past experience in software development roles within hardware development companies to integrate processes and improve overall lab functionality.
* Collaborative Engagement: Engage with cross-functional teams to align monitoring solutions with organizational objectives. Participate in cross-functional meetings and discussions scheduled in time zones outside of IST.
Minimum Qualifications:
* Minimum 15 years of experience in managing lab environments, including research and development, for hardware and software development and testing.
* Minimum educational requirement: B.E./M.Tech in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Electronics/Communications.
* Extensive experience in global network administration and managing follow-the-sun operations.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Strong background in managing relationships with Managed Service Providers internationally.
* Proficient in using Splunk and AI technologies for equipment monitoring and utilization analysis.
* Previous experience working in a software development role at a hardware development company.
* Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
