Director of Finance

Right now, we are expanding and seeking a Director of Finance who is forward-thinking, analytical, approachable, and solution-focused. Sunlighten’s Director of Finance is responsible for all financial planning and analysis (FP&A), including forecasting, budgeting, and cash flow management for Sunlighten. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment and wants to make a meaningful impact. This individual will work closely with executives and department leaders to support data-driven decisions, track performance, and drive operational efficiency. Duties/Responsibilities: + Prepares monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports. + Builds and manages monthly, quarterly, and annual forecasts. + Prepares monthly analysis of budget vs. actual results. + Prepares analysis of key metrics (e.g. sales velocity, profitability, etc.). + Presents financial reports to executives and other stakeholders. + Collaborates with the executives and directors to create budgets and track key performance indicators. + Analyze finance and accounting operations for efficiencies and/or process improvement to ensure accurate financial data. Requirements + At least 8 years of progressive experience in finance or accounting, demonstrating increased responsibility and leadership over time. + Master of Business Administration or a Masters in Accounting preferred. + Bachelors in finance, accounting, business, or a related major is required. + Certified Public Accountants (CPAs) is a plus. + Experience with automation tools, scripting, or AI-driven analytics platforms is a plus. + Experience with business intelligence (BI) software required.
