Location: The Director of Engineering - North America/ Europe is an onsite position located in Breinigsville, PA with minimal domestic travel required to meet business needs.
Your Role:
The Director of Engineering - North America/ Europe is responsible for providing resources and technical support for production and sustaining engineering programs. This leader will manage regional engineering staff and have oversight on project management plans, resource modelling and workload forecasting. They will represent the team to the global engineering council with input to processes and products serving a global customer base and business requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
This role, reporting to the Global Head of Engineering, will lead a team of equipment, software, and electrical engineers, as well as production engineers across our North America and Europe regions. This includes sites in Allentown and Breinigsville, PA, and Chandler, AZ where the focus will be on delivering technical leadership and strategic direction.
Promote safety and quality practices within engineering and laboratory environments, with a particular emphasis on the safe handling of hazardous gases and chemicals. Establish rigorous safety protocols and quality assurance measures to ensure compliance with industry standards, including SEMI and ISO.Responsible for managing overall programs in the region, which includes monitoring continuous progress, establishing overall budget, creating and maintaining critical project timelines, identifying and managing risks.Provide technical direction, knowledge, and leadership to the portfolio concerning all engineering-related matters, including aiding in the resolution of equipment failures, capturing continuous improvement, promoting sustainability, ensuring standardization, and implementing best practices.Develop and execute resource plans aligned with workload forecasts in collaboration with engineering, product management teams and other stakeholders. Ensure optimal allocation of resources for projects involving the design, installation, and maintenance of gas and chemical delivery systems.Communicate with stakeholders on the impact of change and potential effects on engineering. Recommend solutions without compromising quality or service while optimizing cost. Prepare the annual regional engineering budget and forecasts and all capital expenditure proposals as well as ensuring compliance with customer and legal requirements. Implement metrics and data analytics frameworks to measure engineering deliverables and inform development priorities.Monitor market developments and industry trends, technologies, and best practices to ensure the business remains competitive in the semiconductor equipment market.Adaptable to a fast-paced environment and capable of managing multiple priorities.
Who You Are
Minimum Qualifications:
BS degree in engineering or a related technical field8+ years’ experience in operations or engineering rolesProven leadership and management skills with the ability to optimize team performance and development
Preferred Qualifications:
Masters degree or higher in electromechanical fieldPreferred experience in engineering roles focused on gas and chemical delivery systems within the semiconductor industry, oil and gas, chemical, or related industryExcellent problem-solving abilities and a strategic mindsetKnowledge of safety and quality standards in engineering practices, particularly in the context of hazardous materialsProven project management and supplier experienceAbility to add value, reduce costs and make business improvements
